Raven is a character created by Guido Martina and Romano Scarpa, appearing in the comic story "Menace of the Witch's Ruby" in 1953 (translated and collected by Fantagraphics in 2017).

During Witches Night, Raven joins several other witches and sorceresses in the centennial celebration of Witch Empress Mammona. Immediately, Raven exclaims that Queen Grimhilde doesn't belong among the witches in attendance as she failed to kill Snow White. Mammona demands that Queen Grimhilde turn her mystical Green Flame Ruby from green to red, and Raven and Scabra gloat that she won't be able to do so.

When Queen Grimhilde fails her mission, she's transformed into a horsehair broom to serve Raven and the other witches.
