Ray Charles Robinson was an American musician known as Ray Charles (to avoid confusion with champion boxer Sugar Ray Robinson). He was a pioneer in the genre of soul music during the 1950s by fusing rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues styles into his early recordings with Atlantic Records.

His only Disney roles included himself on NBC Salutes the 25th Anniversary of the Wonderful World of Disney, the Disney Sunday Movie episode "Walt Disney World's 15th Anniversary Celebration" and The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson. His renditions of "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" and "Bein' Green" were heard in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap and The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years.
