The relationships of Raya.

Family[]

Chief Benja[]

Raya had a close relationship with her father, Chief Benja who would train her in martial arts and to guard and protect the Dragon Gem. When her father decided to invite the Fang, Spine, Talon, and Tail tribes in an effort to unite them and his people to rebuild Kumandra, Raya was hesitant that his plan would work, but upon hearing her father say someone had to take the first step in rebuilding Kumandra, she decided to follow along with her father's plan.

However, when the plan to make peace with the tribes failed, resulting in the Dragon Gem getting broken and the Druun returning, Raya was protected by Benja who told her to not give up on the tribes before throwing her into a river, sacrificing himself to the Druun.

Years later, Raya dedicated herself to recover the pieces of the Dragon Gem to wipe out the Druun and bring back her father, as she blamed herself for her father's predicament. After finding Sisu, Raya worked with the dragon to recovering the pieces of the Dragon Gem, in order to bring back her father. After restoring the Dragon Gem and vanquishing the Druun, Raya happily reunited with her father and happily showed him Kumandra being restored with its fives tribes together once again.

Raya first met Namaari, the princess of Fang, as a young girl when her father invited all of the tribes of Kumandra, including Namaari and her mother, Virana in an attempt to make peace with them. During a banquet, Raya and Namaari met up with each other and bonded over learning their tribes' different foods and their admiration of Sisu. As they started to form a friendship, Namaari gifted Raya a dragon pendant and Raya decided to show Namaari the location of the Dragon Gem as an act of trust. However, once Raya showed Namaari the Dragon Gem, she was betrayed by the girl who attempted to steal the gem for her tribe. This caused all of the tribes to fight for the gem, only to accidentally to break it and summon the Druun who turn a number of people into stone and lay waste to Kumandra.

Namaari's betrayal had deeply hurt and affected Raya for six years as she journeyed to collect the pieces of the Dragon Gem and summon Sisu for help. It also caused Raya to develop huge trust issues where she would immediately become suspicious of anyone she met and not socialize with people.

Raya held a strong admiration towards Sisu as she grew up listening to stories on how she created the Dragon Gem to drive the Druun away. Because of her fascination with Sisu, Raya considers herself to be a "dragon nerd".

Tuk Tuk[]

Raya shared a strong friendship with Tuk Tuk who has been her companion ever since she was a young girl. They would always stick together with Tuk Tuk always helping Raya with any task, even if he gets a little distracted.

Raya first met Boun when she, Sisu, and Tuk Tuk stumbled onto his boat in an attempt to evade Namaari and her band of warriors. Though Raya was untrustworthy of Boun, she asked if he knew how to get to Talon to which Boun explained that his boat is not fast enough to which upon noticing Namaari and her mercenaries after Raya, Sisu managed to help Boun's boat go faster on order to evade the Fang soldiers just as Namaari and her mercenaries retreat. Despite Raya's trust issues like suspecting Boun's congee could be poison while making silly excuses on why, she does warm up to him like complementing him for being a smart kid protecting himself from the Druun, she even comforts him sharing his sadness of losing family to the Druun. Upon arriving at Talon, Boun decides to stay with Raya and Sisu for the rest of the journey. Since then, Raya became a big sister figure to Boun.

Noi[]

Raya first met Noi when traveling through Talon to find Chief Dang Hai and a piece of the Dragon Gem. Raya thought Noi was a lost baby until the toddler revealed herself to be an intelligent, con artist by stealing her pieces of the Dragon Gem with the help of some Ongis. Raya gave chase to Noi and the Ongis throughout Spine until she managed to outsmart them and recover the pieces of the Dragon Gem. Raya asked Noi where her family was, only to hear from an Ongis that Noi's family had been petrified by the Druun. Taking pity on the young infant, Raya offered Noi a job in finding Dang Hai and a piece of the gem in exchange for money, which Noi and the Ongis accepted.

Tong[]

Raya first met Tong when she and Sisu fell into one of his traps when they arrived in Spine to retrieve a piece of the Dragon Gem. They were captured by him, but they were able to see through his ruse and he had no intention of harming them. When Boun and Noi came to rescue them, Raya was shocked to discover Tong was the only warrior living in Spine as all of his people had been petrified by the Druun. This allowed Raya to feel pity for Tong as she had lost her father and people to the Druun six years ago.
