Reginald VelJohnson is an American actor, voice actor, and comedian. For Disney, he portrays Principal Strickland in I'm in the Band, Dikembe, The Ambassador in That's So Raven, Detective and Mayor David Sutton in Turner & Hooch and the Disney+ show of the same name, and Angel Santos in one episode of I Didn't Do It. He also voiced Able in Tron: Uprising. In addition, he played police officer James in Girl Meets World, Principal Linkenberry in Sydney to the Max, Mason Dunlevy in You Again, and Mr. Flannigan in Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero.

VelJohnson was born on August 16, 1952, in the Queens borough of New York City. He attended Benjamin N. Cardozo High School and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater from New York University, where he had a chance to work with Joseph Papp's Black/Hispanic Shakespeare Company with Morgan Freeman and C.C.H. Pounder.

Primarily playing police officers, VelJohnson appeared in films, like Ghostbusters, Die Hard and its sequel: Die Hard 2, Crocedile Dundee, Wolfen, and Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, The Mistle-Tones and The Flight Before Christmas. He found greater success on television as Carl Winslow in the sitcom Family Matters with Jo Marie Payton. His other television credits include The Equalizer, 227, Tales from the Crypt, Diagnosis: Murder, The Fugitive, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Crossing Jordan, Will & Grace, The Parkers, Monk, Bones, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, Meet the Browns, Hart of Dixie, Mike & Molly, Ray Donovan, 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, and Lazor Wulf.
