Rhoda Elaine Williams was an American actress, who, for Disney, voiced and modeled for Drizella Tremaine in the 1950 Disney animated feature film Cinderella and later would do the same for the mother and daughter for the original Carousel of Progress at Disneyland.
Williams was born to Edgar Phillips Williams and Jessie Elaine Upson and began performing at age five with the radio show We Who Are Young after her family moved to California. She would go to school at She attended Hollywood High School while still maintaining a career as a child actress. She later earned a B.A. degree in theater arts from UCLA when she was 18.
She appeared in films, like Our Gang Follies of 1938, National Velvet, Mr. Belvedere Goes to College, All the King's Men, Space Master X-7, High School Hellcats, The Heart Is a Rebel, The Sergeant Was a Lady, and Critic's Choice. Her television credits included Ironside, Dragnet, The Twilight Zone, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Felony Squad, The Big Valley, Police Story, Marcus Welby M.D., and Barnaby Jones. She also provided the voice of Betty Anderson for the radio format of Father Knows Best before it moved to television.
Outside of acting, Williams taught dialect and speech for actors at workshops and was active in organizations, like the Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and various committees in the Los Angeles area before retiring to Eugene, Oregon where she continued to perform in local productions. She passed away on March 8, 2006. She was cremated and survived by her husband and children.
