Richard Stephen Dreyfuss (born October 29, 1947) is an American actor who is best known for starring in a number of film, television and theater roles since the late 1960s. He is also known for his roles in Steven Spielberg's movies Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind that premiered in the 1970s.

He voiced Centipede in the 1996 Disney live-action/stop-motion film, James and the Giant Peach and played Dr. Leo Martin in the 1991 Touchstone Pictures film What About Bob?,  Fagin in Disney's 1997 movie Oliver Twist, and Professor James Krippendorf in the 1998 Touchstone Pictures film, Krippendorf's Tribe.
