Richard Grant Esterhuysen, known professionally as Richard E. Grant, is a Swazi-English actor, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his many film roles, such as portraying the titular character of the 1987 British black comedy film Withnail and I, Jack Seward in Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 gothic horror film Bram Stoker's Dracula, Clifford in the 1997 British musical comedy film Spice World, George in Robert Altman's 2001 black comedy mystery film Gosford Park, Michael Heseltine in the 2011 biographical drama film The Iron Lady, Dr. Zander Rice in James Mangold's 2017 superhero film Logan, and Jack Hock in the 2018 biographical drama film Can You Ever Forgive Me? (in which he received a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor). He also played Izembaro in the sixth season of the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones and the Great Intelligence in the seventh series of Doctor Who. Additionally, he voiced Preston the macaw in Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.
For Disney, he played Shiver in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, as well as General Pryde in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which serves as the final episode of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He also portrayed Classic Loki in the Disney+ series Loki, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
