Richard E. Grant is a Swazi-English actor, screenwriter, and director. He came to public attention in 1987 for playing Withnail in the film, Withnail and I and achieved recognition as John Seward in Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 gothic horror film, Bram Stoker's Dracula, George in Robert Altman's 2001 satirical black comedy mystery film, Gosford Park, Michael Heseltine in the 2011 biographical drama film, The Iron Lady, Dr. Zander Rice in James Mangold's 2017 superhero film, Logan, and Jack Hock in the 2018 critically acclaimed biographical film, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, for which he received a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also played Izembaro in the sixth season of the HBO series Game of Thrones and the Great Intelligence in the seventh series of Doctor Who.
For Disney, he played Cort Romney in Ready to Wear (aka Pret-a-Porter), Major Farquhar Chevening in St. Ives, and Shiver in the 2018 fantasy adventure film,The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, as well as General Pryde in the 2019 epic space opera film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which serves as the final episode of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He also portrayed Classic Loki in the Disney+ series Loki, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
