Richard Laurence Parker is a character who appears in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and is the father of Peter Parker. He debuts in the season one finale, "If This Be My Destiny..." and is voiced by Josh Keaton.
Richard Parker was created by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber.
Background[]
Richard Parker grew up with his brother Ben Parker and married a woman named Mary. However, Mary would die from unknown circumstances and Richard would commit a crime that would land him in jail during Peter's youth, leaving May and Ben to raise Peter alone.
Role in the series[]
Richard Parker makes his first appearance in "If This Be My Destiny...", where he is revealed to be in prison and May visits him. It's not explained as to why Richard is in jail, but has been there for some time. May visits Richard and he asks how she is doing, to which she exclaims that things could be better. Richard asks how Peter is doing, revealing his identity as his father.

- This is the first appearance of Richard Parker in any MCU media, and any canon Spider-Man media.
- In the comics, Richard and Mary Parker are killed in a plane flight.
- This is the first time Richard is shown to be alive but in prison, rather than dead in Spider-Man media.
- The character did appear in a deleted scene from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but that is considered non-canon since the scene was deleted from the final cut of the film.
- Josh Keaton previously voiced Steve Rogers in the MCU series What If...?.
- Josh Keaton is most famous voicing Spider-Man in The Spectacular Spider-Man.
- In the comics, Richard was a soldier in the United States Army Special Forces.
- It appears that Peter is aware that Richard is still alive and of his crimes, because he only mentions that his mother died during his childhood, in "Duel With the Devil".
