"Road Rumblers" is the eighth episode of Pixar's Cars on the Road. It premiered on September 8, 2022 on Disney+.
Synopsis[]
Road warriors carnap Lightning and Mater, forcing them to battle in the perilous Thundercone.
Plot[]
McQueen and Mater find themselves arguing over getting lost in the middle of nowhere. They spot what appears to be a party happening and up getting captured by road warriors, former cars that transformed themselves in post-apocalyptic like gear. The two are subjected by the Chieftess to take part in the Thundercone, a giant cone that is filled with traps and forced to fight. However, as they try to survive, they suddenly notice that everyone is now occupied with a war against another faction of cars using solar powered panels and electricity.
McQueen and Mater are forced to join and are told by a car named Jeremy that they came to the desert to hang out, but an unknown disagreement caused them to split. McQueen and Mater get on high ground to tell all the cars that they should stop fighting over petty squabbles and amend their friendships. Unfortunately, one of the cars accidentally fires and the war continues. McQueen and Mater manage to spot the road and race across the field and escape, along with Jeremy who seemed to be the only car who listened.
The three stop by a fueling station to quench their thirst. Moments later, the other cars, having apparently stopped their fighting, also appear at the gas station and McQueen offers to buy them drinks too.

Trivia[]
- The episode makes numerous references to the Mad Max film series.
- McQueen says That crummy diner you picked out gave me gas, and not the good kind. This could be a reference to how bad food can give people gas.
- Mater sarcastically compares himself to a Tesla, a reference to the infamous Tesla truck presentation.
