Robert Anthony Rodriguez is an American film director, producer, writer, composer, and special effects specialist, best known for the Mexico film trilogy, which consists of El Mariachi, Desperado, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. He also directed the From Dusk till Dawn, Spy Kids, and Sharkboy and Lavagirl franchises, and the 20th Century Fox film Alita: Battle Angel, which is based on the manga series Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita. He is also a second cousin of actor Danny Trejo.

For Disney, he co-directed the Disney+ documentary Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles and directed "Chapter 14: The Tragedy" of The Mandalorian, three episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, and provided the voices of Dokk Strassi and Mok Shaiz. Additionally, he co-directed the Miramax film Four Rooms, served as a sound effects engineer for Full Tilt Boogie, co-composed the music for Kill Bill: Volume 2, directed Quentin Tarantino's scene in Pulp Fiction, and has directed many Dimension films, including but not limited to: From Dusk till Dawn, The Faculty, From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money, From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter, Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Sin City, and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D, while also directing the Stab segment of Scream 2. He also contributed to the illustration of the concept art book The Art of Avatar: The Way of Water.
