Robin of Lockley is a character who appears in the sixth season of the ABC fantasy series Once Upon a Time. He appears as the wish realm version of Robin Hood, Regina Mills' deceased boyfriend.
Like the original character, he is portrayed by Sean Maguire.
Background[]
This version of Robin, like the original character, met and loved a woman named Maid Marian, but she became sick and died before they could marry. Seeing how badly people were treated, Robin decided to become a thief and steal from the rich to give to the poor.
Role in the series[]
After Evil Regina wishes that Emma Swan was never the savior, this creates a parallel world where she is a princess and Robin is alive. He tries to mug Regina and Emma as they are about to jump into the portal back to Storybrooke and follows them when they find their way home. Once Robin enters Storybrooke, Regina tries to settle him in and the two clearly have feelings for another as Regina tries to make him like his deceased counterpart. While on a date, however, Regina kisses Robin and says it feels like kissing a photograph, aware that while this Robin looks identical to her late boyfriend, he is not the same man. Robin notices this and understands that Regina is just still grieving the loss of her Robin Hood and tells her he can't live up to the legacy that her Robin died for Regina. The two part on good terms just as Robin eventually makes it back to his world shortly afterward.
After Evil Regina is taken down by her main counterpart, Storyrooke Regina splits her heart so both versions have some of the good and evil. With this, Evil Regina, thanks to Aladdin, finds herself in the Wish Realm, where she meets Wish Realm Robin Hood and eventually starts a relationship with him.
Trivia[]
- According to Sean Maguire, Robin was brought back in season six because of the "strong response from the fans" on social medias after his death in "Last Rites".[1]
- It seems that this version of Robin does not have a son like the original character, as he asks Regina about the life the other Robin had, and appears surprised to learn he had kids.

- ↑ "INTERVIEW WITH VIRGIN RADIO, Sean Maguire:". “"The fans are really invested, they want a character to be this way or that way. For us, we learn our lines and “let's go”. I saw their reactions when Robin died. I was glad to see such a reaction because I was disappointed myself when the character died because I loved being on the show but even more for the fans because they are emotionally invested in him and in the happy ending of Regina and Robin, that was taken away from them. So many people were angry with me. “Why?”, “Why did you die?. But there is nothing I could say because I don't write the show. And the producers were mad at me because I tried to defend the fans' point of view. I adore the strong response from the fans. So strong that the producers said “Okay, we will bring him back”. There was a lot of tweeting, a lot of “Why, why, why, why”. I am fascinated by the power of social media and fans when they really want something. And when they told me that Robin was going to be back, they said “No, no. It's not because of the fans, we decided so”. So I was like “Oh, you bet it's because of the fans! I saw it, you knew they weren't happy about the fact Robin had died”. I feel honored that the fans fought for this and I could come back and play."”
