Robot is a red and blue educational robot toy that appeared in the Toy Story franchise. He is shown to be good friends with Snake, as they're always seen together. Robot is also known to be good with building blocks. He and Snake appear to be acquainted if not friends with Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Rex, and Slinky, as they are usually seen sitting with them during staff meetings and sharing space with them to sleep on the bookshelf.
In addition to having capability to speak, Robot also makes continuous electronic sounds and beeps when idle. He has an alarm-like sound whenever he maneuvers, that is also heard when he is panicked. He may also have a sound for the emotion of shock.

Appearances[]
Toy Story[]
In Toy Story, Robot and Snake are called by Woody for podium duty for a staff meeting. Robot in particular is seen picking up a letter block and moving it over to the podium (which is a Playskool Tinkertoy canister).
One of Andy's gifts turn out to be a toy named Buzz Lightyear. Robot, just like the rest of Andy's toys, takes an immediate liking towards him. Later, when all the toys are working out, Robot stands on his head to let Buzz run on his treads like a treadmill. Robot with the assistance of Snake and Rocky Gibraltar helps Buzz repair his ship. After Woody knocks Buzz out the window, Robot attacks Woody by pulling his right arm.
Robot is not seen again until Woody attempted to save Buzz with RC, Robot attacked him, along with the other toys as they attempt to throw Woody out of the truck after thinking that Woody is an enemy to RC by knocking him out of the truck. However, when both Woody and Buzz appear to be working together to reunite with Andy, Robot along with the other toys start to feel guilty about their actions. Robot appears again in Andy's bedroom at the Christmas present meeting, appearing alongside Lenny, Slinky, and Roly Poly Clown before hearing what presents Andy receives for Christmas.
Toy Story 2[]
Robot first appeared in Toy Story 2 when Slinky comes into Andy’s room saying that he has good and bad news. When Buster hunts for Woody in Andy’s room, Robot is seen getting bumped into just after Mr. Mike had been knocked over by Buster.
Later, Robot is seen watching the re-enactment of Woody's kidnapping after Woody was stolen. Before Buzz and his team leave to save Woody who has been kidnapped by Al McWhiggin, Robot and Rocky Gibraltar assist a weak Wheezy, who pleas to Buzz to save Woody. As Buzz, Mr. Potato Head, Rex, Hamm, and Slinky march off across the garage roof, Robot joins the toys in Andy's room waving goodbye and good luck.
Upon their return, he watches Wheezy sing You've Got a Friend in Me with the other toys.
Toy Story 3[]
In Toy Story 3, Robot only appears in the home videos Mrs. Davis took of Andy playing with his toys. Sometime prior to the main events of the film, he is known to have either been donated or sold in a yard sale like most of Andy's other toys were as revealed by Woody during his final staff meeting at Andy's house.
Trivia[]
- Robot appears to be loosely based on the Playskool RC Robot released in 1993, and has some notable similarities to WALL-E, particularly his robotic arms and treads. His voice lines, "Hi! Yo dude what's up?" come from the MyPal2 toy robot from 1991.
- Speaking of his voice, his "Mr. Lightyear wants more tape!" line is more lower-pitched in comparison to his "Yo dude, what's up?" line.
- In the Christmas ending from the Toy Story: Animated StoryBook game, clicking on Robot will make him do an imitation of the robot from Lost in Space.
- Robot has only three spoken lines in Toy Story.
- Robot's mouth lights up when he talks similar to Zurg and Sparks.
- Both Robot and Snake have been known to be the most popular background characters.
- His early concept art indicates that he was originally going to be a more "regular" robotic figure.
- In his brief cameo in Toy Story 3, Robot is missing his colorful light dome.
