Roger Charles Allers is an American director, animator, producer, playwright, and storyboard artist.
He is well known for directing the 1994 Disney animated feature film, The Lion King (along with Rob Minkoff). He also wrote the Broadway adaptation for the film. Additionally, he worked on other films, such as Tron, The Little Mermaid, Oliver & Company, and Beauty and the Beast.
Outside of Disney, he directed the 2006 Sony animated film, Open Season and the 2014 adaptation of Kahlil Gibran's novel The Prophet.
