Rosie Levin is a character in the 2013 Disney/Pixar animated film Monsters University.
Background[]
Rosie is a solid rock-like monster who wears pointy glasses and a pair of bovine-like horns protruding out of both sides of her head decorated with earrings. Additionally, she also has a trademark snake tongue as well as a hissing sound she makes, which fits the name "Eta Hiss Hiss", the name of her sorority.
Appearances[]
Monsters University[]
Rosie only speaks one line throughout the entire film, although she appears several times albeit having a background role.
During the party at Roar Omega Roar's fraternity house, Rosie and the rest of the HSS slow-dance to the music and bear witness to the humiliation of Oozma Kappa; unlike virtually everyone else present, they show only shock and horror at it and do not laugh. Rosie and the rest of her team make it further than any other sorority throughout the Scare Games, but are eliminated in the Hide And Sneak event.
Monsters at Work[]
Rosie appears in Monsters at Work as one of the employees at Monsters, Inc. often seen as a background character; however, ever since Mike and Sulley turned their company into a Laugh Floor, Rosie adjusted to the new changes in Monsters, Incorporated. In Season 1, she occasionally appears in the background during the "Mike's Comedy Class" segments.
In the Season 2 episode "Opening Doors", Rosie notices Tylor about showing his roar to Claire Wheeler alongside J.J. and Lorelei, just as she reacts in shock. Tylor later discusses with Rosie who is curious of why he is at Fear Co., telling her to not tell anyone about this of why he is back at Monsters, Inc.. Rosie replies to him that she gave the Jokester session a try which she did not feel comfortable of it, as well as recapping that she "literally looked at a mirror and saw a big scary monster". Later, Rosie tells Declan (who Tylor mistook for Duncan) to talk to him, just as Rosie tells Tylor that Declan was promoted to Scare Floor deputy just before he engages in a conversation with Tylor that he wanted to make his father proud, which Tylor realizes that Declan is the opposite of Duncan.
As revealed in Descent into Fear, Rosie was fired from Fear Co. after giving a lackluster performance.
Trivia[]
- In the English version of the game Disney POP TOWN, the Roz costume for the Monsters, Inc. category was erroneously identified as "Rosie Levin" which in fact should say "Roz" instead, despite Rosie not originating from the original Monsters, Inc. film.
