Trivia
- When not hunting ghosts, he makes a living and a hobby out of brewing his own soda, especially root beer.
- Turns out, the "ghost attack" he endured as a boy was just Geoff sneezing on him on account of dust, revealing that Ruben had sternutaphobia (fear of sneezing) even before finding out ghosts were real, thus taking a while to accept it was an accident and forgive ghosts in general for the supposed threat to his health.
- It is implied that his side business of running a brewery funds his ghost researching. Had the series continued for a third season, an episode titled "UpROOTing the Chens" would have had him get financial backing from Dorothea Davenport to open a brewery full time.[1]
