"Save the Ocean" is a Schoolhouse Rock! Earth song. It's all about saving the ocean and the sea creatures. It is sung by a chorus of sea animals voiced by Sean Altman, Barry Carl, Inna Dukach (Altman's wife), Jon Spurney, Patti Rothberg, and Eric Booker.

Song Lyrics[]

Fish Band:
If you L-O-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Love the ocean),
You gotta S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean).
Make a C-O-M-M-O-T-I-O-N (Make a commotion),
To S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean).

Walrus: (rapping)
Two-thirds of the world is covered with ocean,
And human pollution makes a big commotion,
'Cause every single living thing pays the price
When global warming melts the ocean's ice.

Burning fossil fuels is the enemy,
That's messing up the ocean's chemistry,
The water gets warm, sea levels get higher,
Makes a warm-blooded animal like me perspire.

Sea Creatures:
If you L-O-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Love the ocean),
You gotta S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean).
Make a C-O-M-M-O-T-I-O-N (Make a commotion),
To S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean).

Shark:
Over F-I-S-H-I-N-G
Spells trouble for a little old shark like me
When fishing fleets are super-sized
My very survival is jeopardized

That high-tech gear is mighty clever
But once we're gone, we're gone forever
I've heard that shark-fin soup tastes great
But slow down, people, before it's too late

Sea Creatures:
If you L-O-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Love the ocean)
You gotta S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean)
Make a C-O-M-M-O-T-I-O-N (Make a commotion)
To S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean)

Tropical Fish:
Carbon D-I-O-X-I-D-E
Spells danger for tropical fish such as we
Planes, trains, auto-mobiles and ships burn fuel
But keep those emissions out of our pool

For those evil chemicals possess the power
To turn our ocean from sweet to sour
Acid destroys the coral we treasure
For food and refuge and leisure

Sea Turtle:
My turn.
(rapping)
Warmer seas means a big increase
In the frequency and power of catastrophes
These tidal waves, hurricanes and tsunamis
Cause erosion, floods and all kind of disease

They destroy my beach-front properties
Which, in turn, endangers my species
So all of us creatures in the deep blue seas
Are singing loud so you'll hear our pleas

Sea Creatures:
If you L-O-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Love the ocean)
You gotta S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N (Save the ocean)
Make a C-O-M-M-O-T-I-O-N (Make a commotion)
To S-A-V-E the O-C-E-A-N

Fish: All together now.

Sea Creatures: Save the ocean!!!

Walrus: Yeah, you gotta save the ocean, y'all.

Fish: Yeah.
