"Saving Silas" is the first segment of the seventy-fourth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on May 21, 2018 alongside "Attack of the Arachno-Bots", and is the first segment of the twentieth episode in the third season.
Plot[]
Trapped in an underground TTA research lab, Zeeb calls the Tomorrowland Mission Center for help. At the Mission Center, Silas thanks Admirals Watson and Crick for coming. Silas tells them that he has been overseeing un underground research lab on the Namazu moon, which is made mostly of rock but also contains lots of metal. The planet that the moon orbits has a charging station that started malfunctioning and is now acting like a giant super magnet. Now, the super magnet is causing the moon to break apart. Silas mentions Zeeb being trapped in the underground research lab. The Admirals say that he must be rescued immediately, and orders Silas to contact Mission Force One. Silas thinks he can handle the mission himself, but after being told by the Admirals about how great the team is, Silas decides to accept the mission and contact Captain Miles Callisto right away.
In the Zenith, Mission Force One is enjoying their dinner. Blodger gets to share his favorite surprise with the team. They think it smells like mud and feet. Blodger tells the team if it is goopendous when Zeno informs them about a call from Tomorrowland. With Mission Force One all present and accounted for, Blodger tells the Admirals that he is dressed as a chef because he was making dinner. The Admirals then mention the bad news about Silas being assigned to a dangerous mission on the Namazu moon, which is breaking apart. Zeeb is trapped there, and Silas was supposed to join Mission Force One in rescuing him, but he never contacted the team. Miles accepts the mission to go to Namazu and save Zeeb and maybe Silas before the moon totally breaks apart, and the team suits up for it.
As Silas is taking a hoverbike across Namazu, he gets called by Miles, who says that Mission Force One will help him rescue Zeeb. However, Silas rejects, as he thinks that he has everything under control. Loretta finds out that he must still be mad because when Mission Force One was formed, Silas was under consideration to become a member. But he wasn't chosen because he doesn't like working with others. As a result, Silas has been out to prove that he's the best cadet at the Mission Center by trying to do everything alone. Miles decides for Mission Force One to save Zeeb, just as the Admirals told them.
They then make it to Silas' shuttle. Since there is no sign of Silas, Miles decides for Mission Force One to split up and look for Silas first, in case he's in trouble. They then take their hoverbikes. Silas tells a computer to show him the tunnel entrance to the underground lab, and it does so automatically. A rising rock causes Silas to fall off his hoverbike, causing him to walk. Another rising rock causes him to fall inside.
Haruna realizes how fast the moon is crumbling. The rest of Mission Force One continues their search for Silas. Miles tries to contact Silas to no avail. Silas makes it back to the ground and sees the tunnel to the research lab. Silas tells Zeeb to consider himself saved.
Haruna sees through his math that there are ten minutes remaining until Namazu completely breaks apart. Miles tells Mission Force One that he is at the tunnel entrance to the underground lab, and tells them to keep looking for Silas while he gets Zeeb. Miles then sees Silas hanging above lava. Silas hops on Miles' hoverbike, but he says that that does not mean he needed Miles' help. Miles then takes himself and Silas away from the lava. Silas says that the research lab is in the cavern. There, Zeeb has no luck opening the door out.
Rocks then block the way to the research lab. With the magma approaching quickly, Silas tells Miles that the latter got them trapped. Miles tells Mission Force One that he found Silas but is trapped at the entrance to the cavern. Miles tells Silas that good leads always rely on their teammates, and that going it alone gets you nowhere.
Loretta, Haruna, Blodger, and Mirandos are heading to the entrance to the research lab when the super magnet lifts a rock, clearing a way to the cavern. Back in the cavern, Miles tells Silas to never underestimate Mission Force One, as they're the best there is at what they do. Just then, Haruna uses his shock punch to break the rock. With time almost up, Miles decides for Haruna, Blodger, Mirandos, and Loretta to fan out and use their hoverbikes' pulse rays to keep the lab steady while Miles and Silas go inside the lab to rescue Zeeb.
As the pulse rays activate, Miles tells M.E.R.C. to bring down the Zenith, as there is an opening right above the lab. Miles uses his blast shield to open the door to the lab. Miles, Silas, and Zeeb force the door open together just in time. Loretta tells Miles that the lab won't be stabilized much longer. Miles tells her to get the rest of Mission Force One out of Namazu, and Miles, Silas, and Zeeb will be right behind them.
Loretta tells Haruna, Blodger, and Mirandos to leave their hoverbikes with the pulse rays running while they return to the Zenith. Miles, Silas, and Zeeb then escape the lab just in time. They then head to the Zenith, which then leaves Namazu just in time.
Once the ship returns to the Mission Center, Silas guesses that this is another mission accomplished for Mission Force One, and leaves. This upsets everyone. The Admirals say that he still hasn't learned the power of working together, and that it's easier to face a challenge when it is done as a team. Miles says that it helps even more when that team is like family.
