The Saxophone King is a character featured in the 1935 Silly Symphony short Music Land.

Personality[]
The Saxophone King is shown to enjoy the jazz music in his kingdom with many residents living there. However, in spite of this, he is shown to be overprotective of his son who is in danger such as the case of his son being arrested by a group of Violin Guards and placing him into jail. He often became rebellious against the Land of Symphony and its residents, starting a war between both genres of music. However, he later stopped feuding with the Land of Symphony when he noticed his son the Saxophone Prince about to rescue the Violin Princess, leading both rulers of their respective islands to rescue their respective children. However, after rescuing his son, the Saxophone King eventually stopped feuding with the Cello Queen just as the two celebrate in harmony with peace brought between the Land of Symphony and the Isle of Jazz.

Music Land[]
The Saxophone King is first seen sitting on his throne in the Isle of Jazz enjoying the jazz music in the kingdom. His son, the Saxophone Prince, feels bored of watching the residents play jazz music inside, as he sees the Land of Symphony from a distance where he spies on the Violin Princess from her balcony using his telescope. Later, after the Saxophone Prince was incarcerated in his cell at the Land of Symphony, he writes a help note to his father which he delivers it to a bird who then realizes that his son is trapped inside. The bird then approaches the King interacting with a ukulele and upon reading a note written by his son, the Saxophone King reacts in shock about his son in danger.
Hearing about this, the Saxophone King becomes very furious that about this, leading the residents of the Isle of Jazz to an all-out attack by forming an artillery to attack the Land of Symphony. He later conducts the jazz instruments to use them as artillery while the Cello Queen fights back. During the feud, the Saxophone King sees his son using a xylophone as a raft, just as he halts the weapon users as he plans to search for his son. Both, the Saxophone King and the Cello Queen find their respective children and later end their feud.
During a wedding between both residents of their respective islands, the Cello Queen accepts that she will marry the Saxophone King. As a result, the Cello Queen and Saxophone King are married, resulting all the instruments to cheer for their wedding after the Violin Princess and Saxophone Prince being married as well, finally stopping the feud between both islands, putting both genres of music in harmony. The Saxophone King and Cello Queen continue their celebration on the Bridge of Harmony with all the instruments from the respective islands in peace.

The Saxophone King appears in the background in Epic Mickey 2 where he is seen standing next to the Cello Queen on the Bridge of Harmony.

- The name "King Sax" was used in the Walt Disney Presents episode Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom where the Saxophone King was named as such.
