"Scorpion Rising" is the seventh episode of Marvel's Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. It premiered on February 12, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Peter and Lonnie face the consequences of their double lives. Spider-Man faces his biggest threat.
Plot[]
Peter tries to talk with Nico who constantly ignores him. He runs into Pearl who is also still angry with Lonnie, and she tells him that sometimes not communicating with someone will unknowingly hurt them. Peter is eventually called away to Oscorp while Pearl gets called by Andre about Lonnie.
Peter and Osborn come to the conclusion that Octavius's constant mechanisms are powered by gamma radiation. Osborn reveals that one of the reasons why he left Oscorp was because he refused Octavius's demands to work with the radiation. While that is happening, Harry goes to visit Nico in an effort to help patch things up with her. Nico continues to belittle Harry's privileged life, but he scolds her for her inability to see that Peter is his first genuine friend and it is something that he very proud of. He decides to teach her to drive to cheer her up.
Harry and Nico encounter a Hot Rod racer who mocks Harry, causing Nico to stand up for him. They end up in the middle of a drag race, during which the amulet that Nico wears appears to glow. They end up beating the Hot Rod racer and head back home. Nico tells Harry that she still cannot forgive Peter for lying to her this whole time, but Harry says that he was just trying to protect her and that she can take comfort in the fact that the two of them are friends now.
Peter discovers that the gamma radiation is emitting from one new mechanism, which unbeknownst to him is from the Scorpions, and tails it. Lonnie continues to try and cover his whereabouts when his mother calls. Pearl arrives at the One Tenths hideout and demands answers from Lonnie, but he refuses as it would put her in danger. Just then, Gargan, now adorned in the Scorpion armor, arrives and attacks the hideout. Peter arrives in the nick of time as Lonnie, Pearl and the rest of the gang members flee. Gargan proves to be a worthy adversary, but Peter manages to use up all of his webbing.
Gargan breaks free from his restraints, with his armor burning him, and he beats Peter. During this, Norman manages to locate Octavius's hideout, but upon his scanners reading that Peter's suit has been punctured by Gargan, he sends a remote control glider to come and rescue Peter. As the warehouse burns down, a weakened Peter is carried away to safety.

- Klev speaks in this episode, and is voiced by his same actor, Zach Cherry.
- When suggesting what power source Otto Octavius is using, Norman comments that he doubts Otto can harness "the power of the sun". This may be a homage to how in the Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, Otto Octavius is attempting to build a machine that can grant him "the power of the sun in the palm of (his) hand". This was referenced when the character returned in Spider-Man: No Way Home, when he quoted "the power of the sun, in the palm of my hand" when being gifted with the Arc Reactor.
- When searching for Octavius, Norman's map of the city resembles that of the map in the Insomniac Spider-Man Game, using Oscorp Surveillance. The hologram feature is similar to that Tony Stark used throughout the MCU.
- Norman rescues Peter from Scorpion, using a prototype of the Goblin Glider.
- This is arguably the darkest episode of the series to date, featuring Scorpion killing one of the 110th Street Gang Members, but also Peter getting impaled.
- Show Runner, Jeff Trammell cited this episode as his favorite to work on in the season.
- Peter's damaged suit and the fight is based on the damaged suit used by Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, from the 2000s' Spider-Man trilogy.
- Peter and Norman realise that Otto is likely using gamma radiation, which is how the Hulk got his powers.
