The Scroll is a supporting character from Disney's 2022 animated/live-action feature film, Disenchanted. He is a magic scroll that helps Giselle and Malvina Monroe. When presented, the Scroll was inanimate, but after Giselle makes a wish on the AndalasianWand of Wishes for a fairytale life transforming Monroeville into Monrolasia, he comes to life.
The Scroll was initially presented by Queen Nancy and King Edward of Andalasia, along with the Wand, as a belated birthday present to their goddaughter, Sofia.
After Giselle makes a wish on the Andalasian Wand of Wishing for a fairytale life transforming Monroeville into Monrolasia, the Scroll who was inanimate, comes to life. Later, when Giselle asked a question, he appears. He tells her that she has until midnight that night to reverse the wish, otherwise everything will be permanent. Malvina Monroe, having figured out that Giselle has a magic wand, sends her two lackies Rosaleen and Ruby to steal the wand, but realizes that she cannot use it, she asked a question making the Scroll appear, resulting in them also holding him hostage. Malvina made him tell her everything about the magic wand. He is later tied up with the wand and silenced by Rosaleen and Ruby, but manages to escape with help of Pip.
The next morning, when everything turns back to normal, he’s returned to his inanimate state.
Trivia[]
The scroll is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who has been somewhat of a good luck charm for Disney since Wreck-It Ralph. The Ed Wynn-like voice he gives the Scroll is similar to the one given to King Candy.
