Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life is a free story campaign for Sea of Thieves, an action-adventure pirate game developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios. As a collaboration with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the campaign was announced during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 13, 2021. Released on June 22, 2021 on all platforms,[1] the campaign consists of five Tall Tales that take players to locations from both Sea of Thieves and Pirates of the Caribbean, where they encounter iconic characters such as Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones.

A Pirate's Life for Me – Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life is set in the Sea of Thieves, a shared world of pirates, plunder, and peril. Players will join forces with Captain Jack Sparrow, the legendary pirate who has escaped from the Sea of the D-----, a realm of eternal torment. Together, they will face new dangers and discover new secrets in a series of adventures that span both familiar and unfamiliar lands.
Embark on an Epic Adventure – The campaign unfolds across five incredible Tall Tales packed with secrets and side-quests. Players will explore the mysterious Sea of the D-----, visit the bustling port of Tortuga, infiltrate the haunted Fort of Lost Souls, board the fearsome Flying Dutchman, and witness the clash of the Lords of the Sea.
Meet Friends and Foes – Along the way, players will encounter many characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean universe, some friendly and some hostile. They will meet Jack's loyal crew, including Joshamee Gibbs, Anamaria, and Scrum, as well as his old rivals, such as Hector Barbossa, Cutler Beckett, and Davy Jones. They will also face new enemies, such as the swarming Sirens, the darting Phantoms, and the brutish Ocean Crawlers.
Collect Legendary Treasures – Players will also have the opportunity to collect various items and rewards inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, such as Jack's compass, the Dead Man's Chest, the Heart of Davy Jones, and the Trident of Poseidon. They will also be able to customize their ships, weapons, and outfits with themed cosmetics, such as the Black Pearl sails, the Jack Sparrow outfit, and the Cursed Captain hat.
Live the Pirate's Life – The fun doesn't end with the campaign! Players can continue to enjoy the Sea of Thieves as a rich and immersive pirate sandbox, where they can create their own stories, engage in various activities, and encounter other players. They can also replay the Tall Tales with different choices and outcomes or explore the hidden secrets and Easter eggs that reference the Pirates of the Caribbean films and theme park attraction.[2]
