In small town Westview, Detective Agnes' murder case sends her down a road that changes everything.
Plot[]
In a crime-style television series titled Agnes of Westview, "Agnes O'Connor" is a police detective in Westview fixated on a Jane Doe murder case. One night, a teenager breaks into Agnes' house, looking for "The Road". Agnes believes he is tied to the murder case, and arrests him. The next day, Vidal, a fellow police detective, comes to Agnes and helps her realize the Jane Doe she is seeing is actually Wanda Maximoff's body, and that Agnes is actually the witch Agatha Harkness, who has been trapped for three years under Maximoff's spell. Waking up from the spell, Agatha realizes that her powers are gone, and Rio Vidal is here to kill her. Agatha convinces Vidal to spare her so she can get her powers back, but Vidal warns Agatha that the Salem's Seven will soon come after her. After Vidal leaves, Agatha is unsure what to do about the teenager, whom she actually kidnapped.
It is revealed that Agatha had a son named Nicolas Scratch, her pet/familiar Señor Scratchy's name is seemingly derived from her son's name.
The name "Nicholas Scratch" is an amalgam of colloquial and euphemistic names for the Devil: "Old Nick" and "Old Scratch" or "Mr. Scratch".
When breaking free from the Hex Wanda placed on her Agatha goes through all the different outfits she wore over the course of WandaVision. Even becoming black and white before releasing herself.
It is revealed that Agatha had been under Wanda's spell for three years, putting this series in 2026.
Episode 6 shows flashbacks to this episode but from Billy's point of view. That episode reveals that "Teen" was saying an incantation to break Agatha out of the spell.
That episode also reveals what really happened outside of Wanda's spell and what the world was like for everyone else. For example, the interagation room shown in this episode is revealed to actually be Agatha's living room in the other episode, "Teen" was not actually run over by a car like it was shown here, and there was no dog barking. The entire interagation scene is less hostile in this scene compared to Billy's point of view as well.
When speaking with Rio, Agatha tells her that there was a car crash in Westview and two airbags were deployed. This is foreshadowing the events from 2023, when the Kaplan's car crashed and is mentioning the death of William Kaplan, which is shown in "Familiar by Thy Side".
Rio tells Agatha to take her power, to which Agatha responds with "That would kill me", which is how Agatha dies in episode 8.
