Seymour is a Muppet elephant who appeared on Muppets Tonight. He worked at the KMUP TV studio with Pepe the King Prawn, first as elevator operators and later as commissary employees. Seymour and Pepe fancied themselves as performers and sought to land a spot on the show whenever possible.
Although Seymour was dropped after Muppets Tonight ended, Pepe went on to become a major character.
What Happened to Seymour?[]
Over the years, there have been questions about Seymour's whereabouts and they all have different replies.
- At MuppetFest in 2001, Pepe stated that Seymour was currently living in a condo in Florida, but in a 2008 interview, Pepe reported that Seymour's green card expired and that he was subsequently deported to India where he works in a zoo.
- In a response to a Twitter question in 2012, Pepe said he's still friends with Seymour. The problem is that he can't fit in a lot of the clubs Pepe goes to. In another interview, he mentions Seymour works in the sanitation business in L.A. According to The Muppets Character Encyclopedia, however, Seymour has returned to the elevator business.
- Seymour most recently made a cameo appearance in the novel "Tales of a Sixth-Grade Muppet: The Good, the Bad, and the Fuzzy".
