Shanghai Disneyland is currently holding its fifth anniversary celebration, dubbed "Year of Magical Surprises". The celebration began on April 8, 2021.
However, on March 21, 2022, the celebration suddenly ended, after the park temporarily closed for a second time due to the coronavirus outbreak and massive lockdown in Shanghai. After Shanghai Disney Resort celebrated its 6th anniversary on Weibo during the reopening of Disneytown on June 15, 2022, the remainder of the event took place during the "Feel the Summer Magic" season beginning July 22.

Trivia[]
- To represent the anniversary, Disney films released in China beginning with Luca introduced a special variant of the Walt Disney Pictures logo for the Chinese market, in which the castle was replaced by Shanghai Disneyland's Enchanted Storybook Castle, the flag's icon was replaced by the park's 5th anniversary logo, and the "Disney" text is golden. While the arc is drawing, the theme "Year of Magical Surprise" (Chinese: 惊喜连连 奇妙一整年) appears above the castle. This logo also shares the same animation from other Walt Disney Pictures logo variants from films released in 2021 and 2022, such as the variant used on Jungle Cruise.
