Shanghaied is a Mickey Mouse short that was released on January 13, 1934.

Synopsis

Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend Minnie have been kidnapped by Pete and his pirate crew and must devise a way to escape from confinement and defeat the pirates.

Trivia

The basic plot of this short was expanded by Floyd Gottfredson for the Mickey Mouse comic strip storyline "The Captive Castaways".
The music that plays during Mickey and Pete's duel and during the ending was later used in Thru the Mirror.
This clip that plays during Mickey and Pete's duel along with Goofy pardoning other people while he's watching in the theater was used in the Disneyland episode, ''The Goofy Success Story".
