"Sharky Unchained" is the second segment of the one hundred and fourth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on March 7, 2016 alongside "Dread the Pharaoh!", and is the second segment of the ninth episode in the fourth season.
Plot[]
Sharky slips away from the Jolly Roger to help Captain Jake stop a monstrous shark called the Shutter.
Synopsis[]
The episode begins aboard the Jolly Roger, with Sharky begging Captain Hook to give him the day off to face a ferocious shark monster call the Shutter. Hook, however, dismisses Sharky's excuse as Smee comments on its creativity. Determined to escape, Sharky crafts a disguise for Bones to use to distract Hook while he takes off in a lifeboat. While rowing, he meets Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Skully, and Bucky, who offer to take him to fight the Shutter.
Onboard Bucky, Sharky explains to the crew that every 50 years, a giant shark monster called the Shutter wakes up to destroy Neverland, and the only thing that can defeat the Shutter is a descendant of the Dark Shark clan, which Sharky just so happens to be. Going as his Dark Shark persona Tiger Sharky, he is ready to face off against the Shutter. Jake and his crew, including Sharky, sail to Stay Away Island, and upon arriving Sharky explains that the only way to defeat the Shutter is to use your pinky to touch a spot between its eyes, making it go back to sleep for another 50 years. The Shutter emerges out of a cave and Sharky fearlessly fights it, but the Shutter throws it off by using Cubby before diving into the ocean.
The Shutter heads for the Jolly Roger, so Jake and Bucky distract it so Hook, Bones, and Smee can sail away safely. Before leaving, the fake Sharky gets eaten by the Shutter, devastating Hook. The Shutter arrives onto Neverland, and Sharky once again fails to fight it. The Shutter trips into a magical pond, transforming into a shark pup. Izzy reads an inscription that says whoever steps into these waters will transform into a giant monster, and the only way to turn back is to step back into the water. The gang concludes that the shark pup became the Shutter and was only trying to turn back into a shark pup. Sharky thanks Jakes and his crew for helping him and makes them promise not to tell Captain Hook. He then returns to the Jolly Roger and claims that the monster spit him out after Hook witnessed it supposedly devouring it before he proclaims that a little magic took the bite out of him. The episode ends with Hook forcing Sharky back to work as he waves goodbye to the shark pup.
