Shelley Alexis Duvall was an American actress, producer, writer, singer, and comedian. She was best known for her portrayals of various eccentric characters. She was known for playing Wendy Torrance in the 1980 horror film, The Shining, Pansy in the 1981 British fantasy film, Time Bandits, and Countess Gemini in the 1996 film adaptation of The Portrait of a Lady. She was also an Emmy-nominated producer responsible for Faerie Tale Theatre, which she also narrated and starred in, and other child-friendly anthology series.
Her Disney roles included Olive Oyl in the live action adaptation of Popeye, Susan Frankenstein in the 1984 short film Frankenweenie, Little Bo Peep in Mother Goose Rock 'n' Rhyme, and Mrs. Randall in RocketMan.
