Shelly is a character featured in the Trader Sam's bars at Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
Background[]
Shelly is a giant clam that was founded by Trader Sam in the ocean. Sam put it in the Tiki Bar where it was granted a magic effect in producing a drink, the Polynesian Pearl, causing Shelly to be granted with a magical effect. At an unknown date in the 1970s, Sam later moved Shelly to a location within the Polynesian isles around the 1970s.

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto[]
While simply a background prop, Shelly would occasionally open its mouth when a guest orders the Polynesian Pearl drink inside Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. When ordered, a magical sound effect plays within the clam, causing the effect to occur just before the drink is served.
Trivia[]
- Shelly has a striking resemblance various other giant clams used in the Disney Parks - namely the ones that appear in Submarine Voyage, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage, and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
- Artwork in the bars often show mermaids taking a pearl from a giant clam in the likeness of Shelly.
