Sir Ector is a character and minor antagonist from Disney's 1963 film The Sword in the Stone. He is a knight who is the father to Kay and foster father to Arthur known as Wart. He is voiced by Sebastian Cabot and currently Jim Cummings.

Personality

Sir Ector is one of Uther Pendragon's knights. He is a rather plump character, with red hair, and a primitive attitude. He prefers more practical things like fighting and war training over educational pursuits. At some point, he adopted the orphaned Arthur. He is shown to be very strict with Arthur, derisively calling him the Wart, while doting on his son Kay. However, he does worry when he learns that Wart has disappeared into the forest, showing that he does care about Wart in some way. He is extremely distrustful of magic, and thus of Merlin, whom he mistakenly refers to as Marvin. After Arthur is revealed as the rightful King of England, he regrets his treatment of the boy, and begs for Arthur's forgiveness.
