Sis Vixen is a character, who was featured in the Disney Parks attraction Splash Mountain.
History[]
Development[]
The Sis Vixen animatronic in the Disneyland version of the attraction is actually a reused model of the animatronic fox character from the former "America Sings", which ran from 1974 to 1988, where the fox from the attraction is seen during the "Down in the Valley" sequence in Act I of the attraction. After the attraction closed down in 1988, Splash Mountain opened in Disneyland in 1989, where a different fox figure was placed to represent the Sis Vixen character into the Disneyland version of the attraction.
As of 2020, Splash Mountain was announced for closure to retheme it into a Princess and the Frog-inspired attraction in order to remove references to Song of the South due to controversy surrounding the film which the attraction was based on. Therefore, it is currently unknown of what will replace the vixen animatronic in the Disneyland version. The Disneyland version of Splash Mountain permanently closed on May 31, 2023.
Role in the attraction[]
In the Disneyland version, Sis Vixen appears during the "Everybody's Got a Laughing Place" sequence. She could be seen on a small geyser holding a paddle oar while singing with the other critters during the sequence in Rainbow Hollow.
