The Slug Monster Student is a character featured in the 2013 Disney/Pixar animated film, Monsters University. He is an unnamed yellow gastropod-like monster who lives in Monstropolis.
Background[]
As his name implies, the slug monster is a gastropod-like monster with a bright yellow coloration all over his body decorated with pale orange spots on his back. Regardless whether he has an object on his back or not, he frequently moves in a slow speed in a speed similar to that of an actual snail - albeit his efforts barely moving.
Appearances[]
Monsters University[]
The slug monster is briefly seen at the beginning of the film where he tries to catch up on the first day of class, trying to be as punctual as possible, attempting to move as fast as he can, but his efforts make him hardly move. Later during the post-credits scene, he then appears arriving at class and finds out that the school year is over, even after the Scare Games ended, which caused him to miss every single school day. The slug monster then leaves the class in the same speed he had.
Monsters at Work[]
The slug monster that appeared in Monsters University appears in the episode "The Big Wazowskis" who's team" "The Sliding Slugs" competes with Tylor Tuskmon and his friends as the first opponent. During a match, the slug attempts to roll a bowling ball, but he hardly moves in the same speed he had in Monsters University where his efforts make him hardly move while attempting to roll down his ball, causing the time to lapse to the next day, just as Needleman announces that Tylor's team defeated the slug due to the approach time elapsed and everyone has to go back to work, declaring the former to win just as Tylor's coworkers celebrate, not noticing that the slug knocked down the bowling pins while they are celebrating.
In "The Cover Up", the slug and all the Monsters, Inc. monsters watch Argus Blinks enter the building.
In "The C.R.E.E.P. Show", the slug was among the monsters attending the C.R.E.E.P. Show.

- In the first trailer for Monsters University, the slug did not have buck teeth in this trailer, unlike what happened in the final version of the film.
