"Soccer Ninjalinos" is the second segment of the twenty-seventh episode of PJ Masks. It premiered on January 15, 2018 alongside "Moonfizzle Balls", and is the second segment of the first episode in the second season.
Synopsis[]
Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos are playing a game of Sticky Splat Soccer. When the balls land, they take up a lot of space. Now the PJ Masks must put a stop to this, or the city will get crowded up with Sticky Splats!
Plot[]
The episode begins with the kids playing soccer in the sports field. After the game finishes, Connor, Amaya, and Greg take a walk around the town as the boys commend Amaya on her soccer skills, when they see the Toy Shop filled with Sticky Splat. That night, the PJ Masks arrive at HQ and take a look at the PJ Picture Player. The Ninjalinos are playing a sticky splat version of soccer around the town.
The PJ Masks take off in the Cat-Car and head to the scene where Night Ninja is training his Ninjalinos as they do their soccer practice. A Ninjalino hits a Sticky Splat ball towards a car as a soccer goal, and the vehicle fills up with Sticky Splat. Night Ninja introduces the team to Sticky Splat Soccer Balls, which the group is using to splat the city for fun. Once they are up in the air, anything that the projectile lands on will expand, just like what happened to the car and the Toy Shop earlier.
The PJ Masks decide to take on the Ninjas’ soccer challenge, with Owlette playing in offense. However, Night Ninja kicks a Sticky Splat Soccer Ball towards her, and it wraps around her feet. Catboy and Gekko quickly play in offense, but the Ninjalinos skillfully pass the ball away from the boys. Once in position, a Ninjalino kicks the ball, and it heads towards the school, filling it up with Sticky Splat once it lands.
Catboy and Gekko try to break the splat off Owlette’s feet, but to no avail. This does not bother her, because she believes she can still play the game. She flies off, but with difficulty, and the boys join her for the next round. Catboy uses his Super Cat Speed to steal the ball from the Ninjalinos. He passes it over to Owlette, who tries to take possession. However, with the splat weighing her down, she stumbles, and the splat gets attached to a trash can.
Night Ninja calls for an aerial assault. One of the Ninjalinos grabs the Sticky Splat Soccer Ball, and multiple Ninjalinos pop out. They work together to kick the projectile, and it lands and fills the dessert shop. Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos then head over to the sports hall as the next goal. Owlette eventually manages to unstick herself from the trash can, but she makes a mess in the process. She is still confident that she is not out of the game yet, though, and decides to play goalie instead if she cannot play offense.
As Owlette effortfully flies off, Catboy and Gekko access what they are dealing with. Since there are too many Ninjalinos and suspect that Night Ninja is up to something, the boys decide to split up. Catboy joins Owlette in the next round, while Gekko finds what the villain is planning. Catboy and the Ninjalinos run over to the sports area. When he fails to keep the soccer ball away from the group, Owlette arrives at the gates, ready to play defense. The sticky splat just sticks to the sidewalk, though, preventing her from flying.
Meanwhile, Gekko climbs up the buildings to confront Night Ninja. When he reaches the rooftops, he sees the whole city from above and gets a realization. Night Ninja can see the streets and his players, which means he is able to plan out their moves. This puts his group at an advantage, and the PJ Masks have no chance of winning. Night Ninja confirms this, and he signals one of the Ninjalinos to come out. He kicks the ball towards Owlette, and she is sent through the gates. The Ninjalinos go through, and they make another goal in the sports hall.
Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos take off, and Catboy and Gekko help Owlette out of the Sticky Splat. She is about to give up, knowing that she cannot play in her condition, until Gekko mentions Night Ninja making plans from up high. This gives her an idea: since her wings do not have Sticky Splat on them, she can still participate in the game by being the team’s eye in the sky. With that role, she can set up a game plan and tell the boys what to do.
Owlette flies up to take on her new position. As she prepares, the Ninjalinos push the Cat-Car towards headquarters and press a button on the control panel to open up Catboy’s HQ door. Night Ninja reveals that all the soccer practicing was to get the Ninjalinos ready for the big game: sticky-splatting the PJ Masks Headquarters. Fortunately, the PJ Masks are ready.
Under Owlette’s planning and leadership, Catboy kicks the Sticky Splat Soccer Balls into the trash cans, while Gekko uses his Super Gekko Muscles to deflect the projectiles. Night Ninja tells the Ninjalinos to kick the balls over the gates, but Catboy quickly defends. The Ninjalinos climb over the wall and head towards HQ. They kick the ball to attempt another goal, but Gekko, with his Super Gekko Camouflage, quickly sneaks past the group and kicks the ball. Night Ninja decides to score himself as a last attempt, but Gekko skillfully prevents him from doing so. The game ends, and the PJ Masks win.
Owlette, now with her feet freed from the Sticky Splat, tells the Ninjalinos to clean up all the mess made with the Sticky Splats. Night Ninja tells them to help him also, as he is sticky-splattered after his failed attempt at the goal. The group carries the villain away, the PJ Masks commend each other on a job well done during the soccer game, and they shout out their signature victory phrase.
