"Someday My Prince Will Come" is a song from the Disney's 1937 animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was written by composer Frank Churchill and lyricist Larry Morey, and performed by Adriana Caselotti as Snow White. The song serves as the main theme of the movie, revolving around Snow White's goal to reunite with the Prince.
In the film, Snow White first sings the song to the dwarfs after recalling her first meeting with Prince. She later sings it again while making gooseberry pies for the dwarfs, just before the Queen arrives at the cottage with the poisoned apple. A reprise of the song is sung by a choir at the film's ending, as the Prince awakens Snow White from the sleeping death and takes her to his castle.
Lyrics[]
Snow White: Once there was a princess...
Doc: Was the princess... you?
Snow White: ...and she fell in love.
Sneezy: Was it hard to do?
Snow White: It was very easy. Anyone could see that the prince was charming. The only one for me.
Doc: Was he, uh, strong and handsome?
Sneezy: Was he big and tall?
Snow White: There's nobody like him. Anywhere at all.
Bashful: Did he say he loved ya?
Happy: Did he steal a kiss?
Snow White: He was so romantic,
I could not resist.
Someday my prince will come
Someday we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever, I know
Grumpy: Heh. Mush.
Snow White: Someday when spring is here
We'll find our love anew
And the birds will sing,
And wedding bells will ring
Someday when my dreams come true!
And away to his castle you'll go
To be happy forever, we know
Someday when spring is here
We'll find our love anew
And the birds will sing,
And wedding bells will ring
Someday when my dreams come true!
Snow White: But you know, someday... once I did meet a prince and we fell in love.
Sleepy: Was it hard to do?
Snow White: It was very easy. Anyone could see that the prince was charming. The only one for me.
Doc: Was he, uh, strong and handsome?
Sneezy: Was he big and tall?
Snow White: There's nobody like him. Anywhere at all.
Bashful: Did he say he loved ya?
Happy: Did he steal a kiss?
Snow White: He was so romantic,
I could not resist.
Someday my prince will come
Someday we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever, I know
Grumpy: Heh. Mush.
Snow White: Someday when spring is here
We'll find our love anew
And the birds will sing,
And wedding bells will ring
Someday when my dreams come true
Someday my prince will come
Someday I'll find my love
And the birds will sing,
And wedding bells will ring
Someday when my dreams come true!
Come True!
Somewhere waiting for me
There is someone I'm longing to see
Someone I simply can't help but adore
Someone who'll thrill me forever
Someday my prince will come
Someday I'll find my love
And how thrilling that moment will be
When the prince of my dreams comes to me
He'll whisper, "I love you"
And steal a kiss or two
Though he's far away
I'll find my love some day
Someday when my dreams come true
Someday I'll find my love
Someone to call my own
And I'll know him the moment we meet
For my heart will start skipping a beat
Someday we'll say and do
Things we've been longing to
Though he's far away I'll find my love some day
Some day when my dreams come true
Someday my prince will come
Someday I'll find my love
And how thrilling that moment will be
When the prince of my dreams comes to me
He'll whisper, "I love you"
And steal a kiss or two
Though he's far away
I'll find my love some day
Someday when my dreams come true
Someday I'll find my love
Someone to call my own
And I'll know him the moment we meet
For my heart will start skipping a beat
Someday we'll say, "I do"
Things we've been longing to
Though he's far away I'll find my love some day
Some day when my dreams come true
Somewhere waiting for me
There is someone I'm longing to see
Someone I simply can't help but adore
Someone who'll thrill me forever
Someday my prince will come
Someday I will find the one
Though he's far away
He'll find my love someday
Someday when my dreams come true
Oh, please make my dreams come true
Someday my prince will come
Someday we'll meet again
And away to his castle I go,
To be happy forever I know
Someday when spring is here
We'll find our love I knew
And the birds will sing and wedding bells ring
Someday when my dreams come true
(La la la la la la)
(Someday my prince will come)
Someday my prince will come
Someday I'll find my love
How amazing that moment will be
When the prince of my dreams come to me
Some where he waved to me

I'll find him someday

Trivia[]
- Various orchestrated versions of the song appear throughout the film, notably when the camera closes in on the storybook.
- It is the film's main song and is very iconic in representation of Snow White throughout the Disney franchise (however, in the two-part Family Matters episode "We're Going to Disney World", it is accidentally attributed to Cinderella).
- Emma Swan can be heard humming the song in the Once Upon a Time episode "Wish You Were Here".
- The song is alluded to in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, where the Seven Dwarfs mention her singing them "purty songs" and telling them wonderful stories about the Prince.
- It is ranked #19 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs list, along with "When You Wish Upon a Star" (#7), "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" (#36), "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" (#47), "Beauty and the Beast" (#62), and "Hakuna Matata" (#99), as one of only six Disney songs that made the cut.
- An instrumental version of the song appears twice in the score of Ralph Breaks the Internet; first when Snow White appears in Oh My Disney, and again when Ralph is dressed in Snow White's outfit.
- The full version of the song is not featured in the 2025 live-action remake, but Snow White can be heard humming it as she prepares to depart to the northern kingdoms in search of her father.
