"Space Race" is the third and final segment, as well as the finale episode of the third season[1] of the eleventh episode of the Disney Channel animated series Chibiverse.
Synopsis[]
Hailey explores the new pepperoni moon.
Summary[]
As the lab hosts a pizza party during "Bring Your Kids to Work Day", Gary analyzes the Chibiverse as the Chibis notice a brand-new red moon in the sky, which, in reality, is actually a pepperoni that Scientist #5's son Braden placed over the Chibiverse's atmosphere, so some of the Chibis build a rocket ship to go up and explore the pepperoni moon. The episode then transitions to an opening of a show titled: The Adventures of the Starship Chibiprise, narrated by Beta.
The Chibiprise team, consisting of Hailey Banks as Captain, Launchpad McQuack the Pilot, Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher the Navigators, Beta himself on Tech and Comms, Gordita Humphrey as Head Scientist, Bill Green the Engineer, ChaCha Ramirez on Weapons, Addison Wells on Alien Energy, and Clamantha who stowed away for no reason, journey out into space to reach the pepperoni moon. The trip starts out well, until they come upon Lord Hater's ship, where they discover that he has gathered his own team of villains, consisting of himself as Captain, Killbot 86 on Tech and Comms, Don Karnage the Pilot, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Norm the Navigators, Chip Whistler on Finances, Flintheart Glomgold the Engineer, Mina Loveberry on Weapons, A.C. Aychvak on Big Bowtie Energy, and the Watchdogs serving other roles, and explains that they intend to claim the moon for themselves, where they will install a military base to plot their takeover of the Chibiverse, which they legally can do due to squatters' rights, much to Hailey's frustration as she knows very little about Chibi Law. Beta tells Hailey to stall for time as he charges up the generator so they can jump to light speed to get past them, so Hailey convinces Hater to go into great detail about how to make Chibi Bills into Chibi Laws, which Hater is more than happy to do so.
Hater continues to go on about Chibi Law until he begins talking about filibusters, a stalling tactic meant to draw out conversations for long periods of time, which makes him realize that that what he's been doing the entire time as Killbot discovers that the Chibiprise has been preparing to jump to light speed, so Hater has Mina fire missiles on them. The Chibiprise takes evasive maneuvers as they navigate through an asteroid field made of red pepper flakes that Braden is also sprinkling into the Chibiverse atmosphere, which prevents Hater's ship from reaching light speed. Beta determines they won't be able to withstand many more hits from Hater's ship, so Hailey comes up with a plan involving Addison and Launchpad. She instructs Launchpad to lead Hater directly into the path of an oncoming asteroid before quickly evading it while Addison uses her powers to hurl it straight towards the nostril of Hater's ship. The asteroid goes inside and heads straight for the central core, forcing everyone to abandon ship as it explodes (with the escape pod returning to Planet Chibiverse), just as the Chibiprise is ready to jump to light speed, and arrive with minimal damage. The team goes to explore, only to discover that the entire moon is made of pepperoni.
Captain Hailey records a mission log where she recounts the events of the episode, explaining that they've harvested a large amount of the moon to provide a new food source that could sustain the Chibiverse for centuries, as the Starship Chibiprise prepares to take off on another adventure, though she notices that Clamantha is missing. Back on the pepperoni moon, several chibi aliens hold a ceremony where Clamantha is crowned Chibi Queen of the Pepperoni Moon.
