- ―When asked how soon can he set sail
The Spaniard is King Ferdinand's most trusted agent and a supporting antagonist in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The Spaniard leads a Spanish force to the Fountain of Youth with a means to destroy it. He is portrayed by Óscar Jaenada.
After King Ferdinand discovered that the Fountain of Youth was real, the Spaniard with his crew goes in the search of the profane temple. A while later, seeing that the Spaniards were coming, Barbossa orders to his crew to attack the Spaniard's ship, but quickly realizes that the Spanish do not bother attacking because the Fountain is his goal.
The Spaniard is seen talking to one of his officers in his camp before Jack Sparrow and Barbossa steal the chalices. Later, the Spaniard and his crew arrive at the Fountain of the Youth, but when Groves proclaims the Fountain as King George's land, the Spaniard shoots Groves and tells one of his men to take note of Groves' bravery.
The Spaniard orders Angelica to give the chalices up, but Angelica is not willing to hand over them, then two Spanish officers forcibly taken the chalices and deliver them to their captain. The Spaniard gives a speech saying that only God can give eternal life, then he crushes the chalices and orders his men destroy the Fountain.
Blackbeard approaches him and begins to chat, but from behind comes Barbossa and he stabs Blackbeard. When the Fountain is completely destroyed, the Spaniard gives the order to his men to retreat.
