The relationships of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Romances[]
Michelle Jones-Watson[]
- MJ: "I love you."
- Peter: "I love you."
- ―Peter and MJ[src]

Michelle is Peter's main love interest in the MCU. It was hinted in Spider-Man: Homecoming that MJ liked Peter because she watched him very often although she denied she was obsessed with him and claimed she was just very observant.
However, Peter and Michelle are lovers in the sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home. Peter reveals to Ned that he has fallen in love with Michelle over the last school year, following the blip. Peter plans to tell MJ how he feels about her with a 6-point plan, which includes taking her up the Eiffel Tower and getting her a necklace with her favourite flower, the Black Dahlia.
It is also revealed that MJ has also started liking Peter too. Even when Peter tries to tell MJ he likes her during a walk in Prague, she stops him by thinking he is revealing he is Spider-Man, something she managed to figure out in the previous movie. MJ and Ned both help to keep Peter's identity a secret from the rest of the class by saying that his aunt wanted him to no longer be on the trip.
Even when Brad Davis - who also likes MJ - tries to expose Peter for apparently trying to hook up with a European woman (who is actually a S.H.I.E.L.D agent), MJ sticks up for Peter by making Brad seem like a creep.

After the events in London, Peter and MJ reunite on the tower bridge where MJ tells Peter that Happy gave her the necklace (which Peter asked him to do if Peter doesn't come back). Even though Peter is upset at first, MJ kisses him and claims she doesn't get close to people easily, which is why she miss-directed him back in Prague. Peter is finally given the chance to confess his love for MJ and she tells him she likes him too, with the two confirming their relationship with a first kiss. They go on a swing back in New York, even though MJ isn't much of a fan about it.
The couple continue their relationship in Spider-Man: No Way Home. They are shown to be in a happy, with MJ supporting Peter through hard times. Peter is shown to be very protective of MJ when New York public make her uncomfortable about dating Peter after his identity is revealed to the world. When they swing back to Peter's apartment, he and MJ are seen by Happy Hogan and May, who think Peter and MJ are sleeping together. After Peter asks Doctor Strange to help him with his identity exposure, MJ (and Ned) support and help Peter fix the villains - Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Lizard and Electro - and return to their own universe. Peter later tries to save MJ when she falls off a building until he is whipped out from Green Goblin's glider and Peter 3 (Andrew Garfield) saves her instead. Peter asks Steven Strange to do a spell that will make everyone forget who Peter Parker is, which means he will lose MJ as his girlfriend and Ned as his best friend. Peter and MJ tearfully confess their love for each other and share a passionate kiss before the spell takes effect. Weeks later, Peter tries to reconnect with MJ and Ned until Peter sees the scar on MJ's head and decides to not tell her everything before leaving with his coffee. A confused MJ watches Peter walk out with a glimpse of recognition.[1]
Liz Toomes[]

Peter and Liz
Liz was Peter' crush in Spider-Man: Homecoming and even though she was suspicious of him leaving a lot, they went to the upcoming homecoming dance together. However, Peter ended up ditching her at the dance after deciding to go after her father, who was the villain, Vulture. Peter and Liz didn't end up dating as she soon moves away to Oregon following her father's arrest.
Liz is never mentioned again by Peter or anyone following her departure from New York, and he ends up falling in love with fellow classmate Michelle Jones-Watson after returning from the blip.
Family[]
Richard and Mary Parker[]
Richard and Mary are his parents. They have never been mentioned in the MCU, but they are known to exist. In Iron Man 2, a man and a woman are heard calling out a young Peter Parker's name during the Battle at the Expo in late 2009-early 2010. While these people are believed to likely be Aunt May and Uncle Ben, it is possible that the people calling out for the young boy is Mary and Richard Parker, sometime, not long before their deaths.
May Parker[]

- “It's just me and you.”
- ―Peter to May Parker[src]
May Parker has raised Peter since he was a child, following the deaths of both his parents and his uncle Ben Parker. They are both very protective of each other but Peter kept his identity as Spider-Man from Aunt May for around 6 months.
Aunt May was first seen in Captain America: Civil War, along with her nephew Peter and was seen speaking with Tony Stark about Peter's "internship" with Stark Industries. May later found out about Peter's secret identity as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, however, she supported him with helping the locals and was shown to be very supportive of him saving the world, as shown in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, after Peter's secret identity was exposed to the world, May did her best to support Peter as he was backlashed and accused of murdering Mysterio. When Peter accidentally brought different villains from multiple universes after a failed spell by Doctor Strange, Peter was supported by his aunt in his attempts to cure the villains and save them from their fates. However, May ends up being killed by the Green Goblin when she is impaled by his glider, but she tries to reassure Peter in her final moments that she is okay and that they will both be fine. Peter soon realises his aunt is in critical condition as he sees her bleed out and stays by her side as she passes away in front of him. Having to flee and leave May's corpse behind, Peter blames himself for her death and vows revenge on the villainous goblin to avenge his aunt's death. Peter's mourning process causes him to isolate himself from his best friend and girlfriend for several hours until they are able to locate him and Peter's ferocity, savagery, and dark side takes over when he almost succeeds in avenging May's death by impaling the goblin with his glider out of vengeance until he is stopped by his oldest counterpart. After Peter gets Doctor Strange to cast a spell that allows everyone in the world forget who Peter Parker is, he visits May's grave and continues his duties as Spider-Man with May's words of wisdom: "with great power, comes great responsibility" in mind.
Ben Parker[]
Although Uncle Ben has not been seen in the MCU, he has been indirectly mentioned in Spider-Man: Homecoming by Peter when he says "May can not know, I can not do that to her, you know? With everything that's happened with her", indicating that Ben's death happened not long before the events of Homecoming and Captain America: Civil War and both Peter and May were still struggling with the loss.
5 years later in 2023; Peter's suitcase for Europe has the initials BFP, indicating that it previously belonged to uncle Ben. Uncle Ben is mentioned in Spider-Man: No Way Home by Peter's older, alternate counteprarts, who tell their younger self that the words "with great power, comes great responsibility", was said by their respective uncle Ben's on the day they died.
Peter Parker in an alternate universe in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man mentions Uncle Ben in the first episode and he and May are still grieving from Ben's passing as it has not been that long after he died.
Friends[]
Ned Leeds[]

Ned is Peter's best friend in the MCU. They have been friends since the start of high school and Ned helps Peter during his antics as Spider-Man, calling himself "the guy in the chair". Ned is a big fan of Peter being Spider-Man and the two are shown to be very close. Ned constantly supports Peter through his work as Spider-Man and they are always there for each other no matter what. They had a tearful reunion in Avengers: Endgame, after being brought back to life five years after being disintegrated by Thanos' snap.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ned and Peter's girlfriend MJ stay by his side as he has been framed for the attacks in London by Mysterio and Ned supports Peter's relationship with MJ. Even though Ned doesn't get into MJ along with Peter and MJ because they know him, Ned doesn't blame Peter as he knows he saved the world during their trip. Ned stays loyal to Peter throughout the multiversal crisis as his "guy in the chair" and helps him capture the displaced villains and them return to their worlds with their fates changed. Ned becomes extremely anxious about Peter as he has isolated himself and not told him or MJ where he is after learning Peter's Aunt May has died. Peter is later comforted by Ned and MJ and Ned promises Peter he will not turn into a supervillain and kill him, after learning Peter's oldest counterpart told him that is exactly what his best friend Harry Osborn tried to do, in his world, much to Peter's confusion. Peter and Ned share a tearful goodbye when he will forget his best friend in order to save the universe, but Peter does promise both Ned and MJ he will come and find them and tell them everything, although he later decides against this as he sees Ned unharmed and happy with his new life.
Flash Thompson[]

Although Flash does bully Peter at times, Peter doesn't hate him and just ignores Flash at times. This was shown during Spider-Man: Homecoming when Flash messes with Peter during the homecoming dance, but Peter doesn't do anything to stop him. Despite Flash not being very nice to Peter at times, he is a big fan of his alter-ego as Spider-Man.
Flash and Peter seemed to be closer and more friendlier in Spider-Man: Far From Home, even though Flash messes with Peter whilst on the plane to Europe, but he is teased by MJ for teasing Peter. Flash seemed to stick up for Peter with Michelle when she called Brad Davis out for claiming he saw Peter in his underwear and Flash questioned Brad for it, causing everyone to not believe Brad.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, after Peter's secret identity was exposed by Mysterio, Flash took advantage of Peter by telling everyone he was his "best friend" and wrote a book about his "friendship" with Spider-Man. When trying to get MJ and Ned into MIT, Peter called Flash, asking for his assistance in seeking out the MIT consuelor, promising to call him his best friend. Later, Peter would no longer interact with Flash after the latter's memories of him had been erased by Doctor Strange in order to prevent the multiverse from collapsing.
Tony Stark/Iron Man[]
- “I just really miss him.”
- ―Peter about Tony in Spider-Man: Far From Home

After first meeting him in Captain America: Civil War, Peter looked up to Tony as a mentor and a father-figure and he gave him a new, advanced suit. Tony advised Peter in Spider-Man: Homecoming and helped him on the Staten Island Ferry even though Tony knew Peter went behind his back after he told him not to go after the Vulture, causing Tony to take Peter's suit away from him, but he did eventually give it back, telling him he deserved it.
Peter followed Tony to space during Avengers: Infinity War even though Tony thought Peter had been sent back to Earth, something he told his A.I to do. Tony finally made Peter an official member of the Avengers and the two fought side-by-side with the Guardians of the Galaxy against Thanos, but Tony ended up losing Peter after Thanos snapped his fingers, turning 50% of the universe to dust.
However, five years later in Avengers: Endgame, Peter and Tony were reunited after the Avengers got all the infinity stones from the past and the Hulk brought all those who snapped back to life. When telling him what happened over 5 years, Tony embraced Peter. Peter is surprised, but returns the hug nevertheless while speechlessly commenting that the hug felt nice. Peter was left devastated after Tony died from turning Thanos and his army into dust.
Peter attended Tony's funeral along with his aunt and the rest of the Avengers, feeling devastated that he had lost a father-figure to him after his uncle Ben.
In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter was struggling with the loss of Tony after everyone started to see him as the head avenger and asked him if he was going to be the next Iron Man. However, Peter soon came to realize he just needed to be his own hero and not follow directly in Iron Man's footsteps.
Happy Hogan[]
- “Peter: Take care of yourself, okay?"
"Happy: Yeah, you too.” - ―Peter and Happy after the memory wipe spell in Spider-Man: No Way Home

Peter and Happy in "Far From Home"
Peter first met Happy after Tony Stark assigned the latter as the point of contact between himself and Peter. At first Happy was irritated with Peter and hated his job, but after the latter saved his job with Stark Industries by defeating Vulture and stopping his thefts, Happy thanked him and, from that point on, called him a good kid.
After Tony's death, Peter and Happy became close and they both bonded over losing Tony and what he meant to both of them. Happy even said that although Tony second-guessed nearly everything he did, he did not second-guess choosing Peter as his mentee. During Spider-Man: No Way Home, Happy would help shelter Peter and May, the latter of whom he developed feelings for at his secure apartment from Mysterio supporters. Happy would later get arrested by Damage Control but not before signalling Peter to escape, following the mishap caused by the multiversal villains Peter was trying to help. After Doctor Strange cast a spell for the world to forget who Peter Parker was, Happy was one of these people. In December following the universal crisis, Peter met Happy Hogan again at Aunt May's grave. Both were mourning May when Happy asked Peter how he knew May as he didn't know he was her nephew. Peter responded that he knew May through Spider-Man, which Happy agreed. Peter and Happy wished each other well and to take care of themselves before Peter departed the graveyard.
Stephen Strange[]
- “Call me Stephen.”
- ―Doctor Strange to Peter Parker, prior to casting the memory wipe spell.[src]

Peter met Stephen Strange met during Thanos' attack in Avengers: Infinity War after the former and Tony Stark saved his life from Ebony Maw, who was about to kill him to take his Time Stone. At first, Strange and Peter were nothing more than situational allies and Strange was even initially willing to let Parker or Stark die in the battle against Thanos to protect the Time Stone from him. Strange's decision to spare Tony in exchange for Thanos getting the Time Stone ultimately resulted in his and Peter's deaths after Thanos wiped out 50% of the population.
However their relationship became better following Avengers: Endgame, with Parker seeking Strange's help during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home to cast a spell to make the world forget he is Spider-Man to take off heat from his friends, Aunt May and Happy Hogan. Their friendship has improved to the point where he tells Peter that he does not need to address him formally. Peter ruins the spell however, and opens the multiverse, annoying and angering Strange to a great degree with the latter telling him bluntly that his double life was the cause of all his problems.
Peter and Strange eventually clash after the latter callously decides to send the multiversal villains home to their demises at the hands of their Spider-Man, which the former disagrees with and stops him from doing so. Peter then traps Strange in the Mirror Dimension.
Later, after being released and following Peter having cured the villains, Strange is asked by Peter to cast a spell to forget Peter Parker to save their universe from collapsing, which he hesitates at first, as he had come to see Peter as a friend and did not want to forget him in addition to not wanting to ruining his life further, but ultimately accepts and respects Peter's decision, even telling him he can call him by his first name which he thought was weird at first. Strange is secretly grateful that Peter helped him find his own lost goodness and subconsciously held on to his teachings as he tried to protect and foster a friendship with America Chavez and give Wanda Maximoff multiple chances to redeem herself.
The Amazing Spider-Man & Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man[]

Spider-Man hugs his older variants.
- “Peter-Three: I love you guys.
Peter-One and Peter-Two: Thank you.” - ―The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Peter meets two alternate, older versions of himself in Spider-Man: No Way Home, as a result of his spell gone wrong, which lures them and villains into his world. Peter meets them via Michelle Jones and Ned Leeds locating him on the roof of their high school. Both older versions reminisce with their younger self about their experiences of loss in the form of Gwen Stacy and Uncle Ben, after learning Peter-One (this universe's Peter) has lost his Aunt May to the Green Goblin. With the encouragement of his older selves, Peter agrees to make cures for the displaced villains, including the Green Goblin, and the three Peter's work together to make the cures.
Once the cures are complete, the three Spider-Men work together to lure the villains to the Statue of Liberty and bond over the experiences with the villains they have all faced. Peter-One forms a close friendship with his alternate selves and The Amazing Spider-Man (Peter-Three) refers to the other two as his brothers. The trio are able to cure the villains and send them back to their worlds. Peter-One thanks his older selves just as they are about to return to their respective universes.
Enemies[]
Vulture[]

- “Vulture: Time to go home, Pete.
Peter: I'm trying to save you!” - ―Spider-Man: Homecoming
As Spider-Man, one of Peter's enemies was Vulture who Peter found out about in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Peter tried to confront the Vulture and was shocked when he realized that his high school crush Liz Tommes' father, which makes things worse when Peter goes to Liz's house for homecoming and is nervous. However, the Vulture figures out that Peter is Spider-Man and threatens to kill Peter. Peter ends up ditching Liz at the dance to take on her father and even when the Vulture almost kills Peter, Peter saves him as his wings are about to explode. This makes the Vulture keep Peter's identity a secret when a prison mate wants to know Spider-Man's identity.
Mysterio[]
- “For the next Tony Stark, I trust you.”
- ―Spider-Man to Mysterio[src]

Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, is Peter's arch enemy in Spider-Man: Far From Home. When they first meet, Quentin takes a liking to Peter and lifts his spirits about being "the smartest one in the room". Peter works with Mysterio under Nick Fury's orders to take down elemental's. Whilst in Prague, Spider-Man and Mysterio take on the fire elemental which results in Mysterio getting hurt. A few hours before the battle, Quentin comforts Peter after he is told off by Nick Fury and Peter starts to see Quieten as a father-figure and mentor. However, after the battle, Peter and Quentin to to a bar where Peter explains he just wanted to have a normal vacation, spend time with his friends and tell MJ how he feels about her which Mysterio jokes about. Peter then decides to give Mysterio E.D.I.T.H, an A.I Tony Stark left behind for Peter before his death and enjoy his holiday.
However, it is then revealed that Mysterio and his crew have been trying to get E.D.I.TH this whole time and has been playing with both Peter and Nick Fury. However, Peter soon finds out with MJ that Quentin has been faking the attacks with illusions so flees to Berlin to tell Fury. However, Peter then finds out that Maria Hill and Fury are both illusions and Spider-Man is sucked into Mysterio's illusions, which causes Peter to be hit by an oncoming bullet train. Thinking Peter is dead, Mysterio uses this as a chance to kill his friends Michelle, Betty, Ned and Flash in London.
When Peter regains consciousness, he gets Happy Hogan to fly him to London to stop Mysterio's plans, which he succeeds in. Quentin is hit by one of the drones and dies from his wounds, but things get worse when Peter returns back to New York and he and MJ witness Beck exposing Spider-Man's identity to the world as Peter Parker.
Sometime later, Peter managed to make the entire world forget his secret identity, only to cost Peter in losing his friends and allies as they all forgot him or even knew he existed. So, all in all, Mysterio is Peter's worst enemy as he technically destroyed Peter's life.
Brad Davis[]
High school wise, Peter's main rival is Brad Davis as seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Both Peter and Brad are competing for MJ's affection with Brad taking a picture of Peter in his underwear, unaware he is with a shield agent, thinking he wants to hook up with the woman. Brad takes the picture to show MJ to seem like a better romantic option than Peter, but this backfires when MJ knows Peter's secret identity as Spider-Man and sticks up for him when Brad tries to make him look bad. Brad gives up on MJ after this and Peter ends up winning her heart.
Green Goblin[]
- “Green Goblin: Peter, Peter, Peter. Too weak to send me home to die.
Spider-Man: No. I just want to kill you myself.” - ―Green Goblin and Spider-Man[src]

Spider-Man and Green Goblin's explosive fight.
When Peter messed up a spell created by Doctor Strange in an attempt to make the world forget his secret identity, Peter's actions brought the Green Goblin from another universe. Peter first met the Goblin after managing to defeat Doctor Octopus on a bridge. The two would later meet again at the Feast Shelter, where Peter would sympathize with Norman after learning of his split personality. The two would then work together to try and cure the other villains who were transported to Parker's universe, Osborn included. However, the Goblin side took over and would go on to torment Spider-Man by trying to kill him and those he loves. Peter later tried to kill the Goblin for revenge for killing his aunt, until he was stopped by an alternate version of himself from Goblin's universe, knowing that this would haunt him in the long run. Realizing why his alternate self stopped him, Peter understood that Norman's actions were not his fault but Green Goblin's and decided to cure him of his spilt personality for good. Despite this, Peter didn't answer Norman's question as to what he had done while under the Green Goblin's control as he had a lot of anger towards his alter ego.
