Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) is an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor, and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.

History

Due to his longtime association with Marvel, Lee made cameos in most post-2000 movies based on Marvel Comics. In non-Disney productions, he made cameo appearances in X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Hulk, Spider-Man 2, Fantastic Four, X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (in which he portrayed himself), Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Deadpool 2.

In Disney productions, he made cameos in The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. His cameo in Big Hero 6 is especially relevant as he plays Mr. Fredrickson.

Lee's cameos in the above films are significant in that he is the credited creator or co-creator of virtually all of the major Marvel characters featured in both Disney and non-Disney films, his association with Marvel having dated back to its earliest days in the early 1940s.

He also made cameos in TV shows and TV movies based on Marvel comics. In non-Disney TV shows and TV movies, he was the narrator in the 1982 Incredible Hulk cartoon show and in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, and he cameoed in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, The Incredible Hulk: The Animated Series, Trial of the Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Gifted, and had a mayor role as the Mayor of Super Hero City in The Super Hero Squad Show.

In Disney TV-shows and TV movies, he appeared in Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel (reprising his role as the hot dog vendor from X-Men), Ultimate Spider-Man (where he replaced Phil Coulson as principal of Midtown High after Coulson was made the star of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and made cameos in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Avengers Assemble, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Spider-Man, Runaways, Guardians of the Galaxy and Big Hero 6: The Series.
