Stanlee is a character who appears in the 2021 Disney+ original film Flora & Ulysses.
Background[]
Stanlee is the owner of a comic book store named "Comic Cave" whom Flora meets whenever she visits his store. He is shown to offer money to Flora which he can sell to her for the number of comics she plans to sell, regardless whether a tournament occurs in his store or not. He is also shown to not be fond of being a self-help genre when Flora expected that he would help Ulysses gain more super powers as well as his favorite characters faced off by other characters (such as Incandesto facing against Spider-Man).
Role in the film[]
Stanlee is first seen approaching Flora who is planning to sell her collection of comic books, except for Incandesto, which was her father's creation, planning to give her thirty dollars if she sells those books. Flora accidentally causes a mess in the store, causing Stanlee to react in shock, just as Flora tells him that she would accept the thirty dollars he would give her for selling the comics, except for her father's comic.
He later appears again when Flora takes William Spiver to Comic Cave, telling him that she is on a superhero-related business, which Stanlee replies that if she says bad things about his favorite character Spider-Man, he might shut down his store. Just as they approach him, Flora asks him if he has a superhero training for squirrels, which he denies, telling him that he is not fond of being a self-help genre. However, the conversation was interrupted when the two hear a news report of Ulysses being a fugitive. He does not appear again throughout the rest of the film.

- His name is a reference to Stan Lee, an American comic book writer who used to make cameos in several Marvel films until his death on November 2018, which was at the time Flora & Ulysses was in production.
- Bobby Moynihan, who played Stanlee, also voiced Louie from the DuckTales reboot. Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Kate Micucci who participated in Flora & Ulysses, also voiced Huey, Dewey, and Webby respectively in said series.
- At one point, Stanlee briefly reads a DuckTales comic book featuring illustrations of Scrooge McDuck, Gyro Gearloose, and Flintheart Glomgold respectively where their designs from the 2017-2021 reboot were featured. Additionally, he even says Louie's catchphrase, "H'oh boy."
- Stanlee can be seen wearing a Kylo Ren t-shirt during the part where Flora meets him again where she tries to ask him for help. This can imply that Stanlee is also a fan of Kylo or the Star Wars franchise.
