Star Wars: Andor is an upcoming Star Wars television series by Lucasfilm. It is set to premiere on Disney+ in Summer 2022.

Premise

Set five years before the events of Rogue One (2016), the series follows rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion.

Production

Development

In February 2018, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that a few Star Wars live-action series were in development for Disney's streaming service. The series was officially announced by Bob Iger during Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2018 Earnings Results on November 8, 2018. On November 30, it was reported that executive producer Stephen Schiff was tapped to serve as showrunner while Moana writer Jared Bush was revealed to have originated the project by writing a pilot script and a series bible.

On October 15, 2019, co-writer Tony Gilroy would be writing for the series in addition to directing the shows. On December 3, 2020, Diego Luna confirmed that the series had started filming in London.
