On July 27, 2023, it was reported that Justin Simien had exited the series as the showrunner, due to his commitments with Haunted Mansion and that Donald Glover and his brother Stephen would write and serve as showrunners for the series.[3]
On September 14, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Lando was being redeveloped as a feature film instead of a television series.[4]
