| During the Clone Wars, the Separatist droid army, led by General Grievous, massacres the Nightsisters of Dathomir, including the mother of a young Morgan Elsbeth. Following her rescue by the Mountain Tribe, Elsbeth recruits three young members of the tribe to help her recover Nightsister weaponry, but they are attacked by Battle Droids. This forces the leader of the tribe, who opposed Elsbeth's mission, to come out into the open and defeat the droids. Afterwards, Elsbeth is disowned by the tribe's leader. | |||||

Later, Elsbeth defeats an Imperial assassin named Rukh and is met by Admiral Thrawn, who reveals that Ruhk's attack was a test of her skills. After learning Elsbeth's motivations for joining the Empire, Thrawn accepts her project and lends a portion of his fleet to assist Elsbeth in her operations. | |||||
