Steven John "Steve" Carell is an American actor, voice actor, comedian, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his role as Michael Scott in the NBC mockumentary sitcom The Office (2005–2011) and its finale. He is also well-known for his other roles as Brick Tamland in the Anchorman franchise, Andy Stitzer in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Max Smart in Get Smart, and Cal Weaver in Crazy, Stupid, Love. Additionally, he voiced Hammy the red squirrel in DreamWorks' Over the Hedge, Ned McDodd, the Mayor of Whoville in Blue Sky's 2008 adaptation of Horton Hears a Who!, and Felonius Gru, the main protagonist of Universal/Illumination's Despicable Me franchise.
For Disney, he voiced Mr. Delancey in Fillmore!. He also portrayed Dan Burns in the 2007 Touchstone Pictures comedy-drama film Dan in Real Life, as well as Ben Cooper in the 2014 fantasy-comedy film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
