Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, CBE, better known by his stage name, Sting, is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and actor. Prior to starting his solo career, he was the principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for the rock band, The Police.
For Disney, he contributed to the Academy Award-nominated song "My Funny Friend and Me" (which he also sang in Italian) in The Emperor's New Groove. He performed the song at the 2001 Academy Awards. He also contributed to the Golden Globe Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated song "Until" in the 2001 Miramax film Kate & Leopold.
