"Stormy Night in a Dark Nebula" is the second segment of the twenty-third episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on October 10, 2015 alongside "Ghost Moon".

Plot[]

In space, Miles and M.E.R.C. are out looking for space junk when Miles finds a pyramid. M.E.R.C. finds an asteroid, and Miles reminds him that they are looking for asteroids like the one Miles collected, a pyramid. They then head back to the Stellosphere.

In Miles' room, Miles finds out that some rocks look like pyramids like accident. They are very hard to find and super rare, so getting one is a big deal. Miles and M.E.R.C. head to the bridge so that Loretta could scan it with her Bracelex. When they get there, they see a stormy and dark nebula ahead. Loretta has read about those, stating that the cosmic dust is so thick that it is almost black in the nebula. The sounds are also coming from lightning from a never-ending electrical storm. Miles assumes that the Callistos are going around, but Phoebe and Leo say no, and that the mission is to check a ship in the nebula to see if anyone is stranded. Leo thinks that it is a ghost ship, but Phoebe says that it is just an old ship. Leo then pilots the Stellosphere into the nebula, while telling the Callistos in a spooky voice that this could be a bumpy ride.

The Stellosphere then dodges some asteroids, and Phoebe reveals that the asteroids are made up of silicates, nickel, iron, various ices, and even a little gold. One of the asteroids has a trace of staridium, which is not only rare, but the most valuable metal there is. Miles and M.E.R.C. think about grabbing some, but Loretta disagrees. Just then, the Callistos arrive at the ship. Miles assumes that the ship, which Phoebe thinks is some kind of cargo freighter, is hardly spooky. Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. decide to stay on the Stellosphere while Phoebe and Leo check out the ship.

While Phoebe and Leo take the space tunnel, Phoebe activates her Spectral Eyescreen's camera mode. Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. have a visual, but there is static from the electrical storm. Once Phoebe and Leo head in the ship, Leo finds out that the artificial gravity is on and the air is breathable. Phoebe decides to check the corridor to their right side. Leo assumes that this place is a mess, which reminds him of Miles' room. They then lose contact with Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C., who decide to go in the ship themselves.

They then search for Phoebe and Leo with different kind of mechanical robots in the background. While Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. continue their search, one robot presses a button, causing Loretta to fall into where Phoebe and Leo are. Miles and M.E.R.C. search for Loretta when they encounter two robots. They then make their way through the ship to meet two other robots which merge into one. Miles and M.E.R.C. then encounter another robot, which makes a spooky sound and is blue. Miles asks him where his family is when M.E.R.C. takes Miles away from him. When Miles opens a door, he sees his family again. Phoebe states that they have been locked in the chamber, and Miles questions if they have seen the ghost. The blue robot which makes the spooky sound appears, telling the Callistos to leave. M.E.R.C. flings another robot to him, causing both to crash into what the Callistos find out to be the place where the robots on the ship work. The blue robot deactivates himself, and opens its window. The alien controlling the robot wonders why the Callistos did not flee in terror and leave. He thinks that the Callistos are trying to take his gold. The Callistos find out that the alien struck gold in the asteroids. He thinks that people would come from everywhere to strip him of the entire nebula. However, Phoebe, Leo, and Miles say that gold is not rare anymore, and they discovered planets filled with the stuff. Loretta also tells the alien that he does not have to keep his ship in the spooky nebula anymore, but he says that he got used to it, and tells the robots to shut the system down.

The Callistos decide to go back to the Stellosphere, but Miles stays behind. Miles tells the alien that he also likes looking for stuff that's rare. The alien introduces himself as Fossick, and says that his stuff is not rare anymore. Miles offers him a pyramid, which is super hard to find. However, Fossick declines the offer, and decides to search for something else that's rare. Miles decides staridium, and Phoebe and Leo say that there is a tiny bit of the material in the nebula. This excites Fossick, who tells the robots to power the system back on. Fossick is glad he and Miles met.

After the Stellosphere leaves, Miles and Loretta are checking the rocks in Miles' collection when Loretta finds an ailen symbol etched on one of the rocks. They then decide to make a new collection: asteroids with alien symbols. Loretta can't wait to find more, and Miles tells her that searching for them is the best part.
