"Summer of El Futuro" is the first segment of the twelfth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Primos.
Synopsis[]
Tater tries to see into her own future.
Plot[]
Tater wakes up, along with the garage possum, one morning to recap on how far she is on her progress to her final form. When she realizes that she has made zero progress since summer started two weeks ago, she despairs. Bud casually acknowledges her journey to her final form, but when she makes it abundantly clear to him that she is static, he seems to humorously dismiss her. When he suggests using a crystal ball like him to see how the pipes keep getting clogged up, Tater comes to the conclusion that she needs to find a way to peek into the future to see what she will be like when she grows up and how to possibly reach her goal.
First, Tater sees LotLot who shows her her tarot cards. Tater gets the Hermit (she started off isolated until the primos came), the Fool (she is still figuring herself out), and the World (she will eventually come full circle); Tater is unsatisfied with the results, as it sounds too vague. Next, she sees the T Sisters who play M.A.S.H. (Mansion, Apartment, Suite or House) with her. They tell her that she will live in a mansion, be a tiger trainer, have fifteen kids, and be married to the Skid, much to her horror. Third, Tater attempts to get a fortune from a fortune cookie, but the cookie she gets doesn't have one. Lastly, she asks Gordita, who performs experiments on her. Unfortunately, her findings are declared "inconclusive". Coming to the conclusion that she has no future, Tater falls further into despair, believing she has already wasted her entire summer.
Tater is found in the garage by the primos, while Bud overhears from outside. When Tater wallows over not knowing who she is, the primos inform her that she has already done so much this summer, especially with helping them overcome their own issues as well. As Tater cheers up, Lucita gives Tater a new fortune cookie that reads "Your Future Looks Bright". Bud accidentally reveals himself and as Tater tries to explain herself, Bud instead tells her that he understands and that she should take all the time she needs to get to know herself more. As Tater triumphantly embraces an uncertain future, she is scared off by the Skid who makes a pass at her.
