"Summer of La Iguana" is the second segment of the twenty-fourth episode of Primos.
Synopsis[]
Tater celebrates her favorite summer family holiday.
Plot[]
Serena discovers Tater dressed as an iguana. Tater reveals that every summer there is a holiday that they celebrate known as Mañana de la Iguana (Morning of the Iguana) where they celebrate the arrival of La Iguana Dorada (The Gold Iguana) who comes in the middle of the night and leaves candy in specially made nests. He also buries a golden egg that when discovered allows that person to have their wish granted. Tater has never been able to get the golden egg, but plans to do so this year. Serena notes that the holiday seems specifically designed for them and decides to head home so that she can let her and her family enjoy the holiday.
Tater and her primos set up their sleeping bags and nests at their grandparents' house and wait for the arrival of the Iguana. Tater happily proclaims her plans to be the one to find the golden egg in the hopes of finally having her wish granted. She is so excited that she plans to sleep early. In the middle of the night, Tater hears a noise and assumes that it is the Iguana. She heads outside with her camera to find it, but discovers tracks and a can of gold paint. Tater find the "Iguana", but it turns out to be LotLot in an Iguana costume. She also finds Lita, Cousin Bud, Big Nacho, and Tabi setting up the treats and realizes that the Iguana is fake.
Tater's world is shattered. Pop and Buela invented La Iguana Dorada for the kids for the summer and the older primos have been helping. Tater is upset over the news, but LotLot later comforts her, telling her that she too went through a similar thing, but now loves being on the other side of the legend. Tater decides to join the festivities and discovers that it is fun to make up the holiday. In the morning, the rest of the primos happily collect their candy and Tater aids Lucita in finding the golden egg. In a surprise twist, Tater and LotLot encounter the real Iguana who gives them a thumbs up approval for keeping the tradition alive.
