"Summer of No Sabo" is the first segment of the eighth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Primos.
Synopsis[]
Tater's primos try to help her improve her Spanish with a homemade escape room.
Plot[]
While hanging out with the primos, Tater is once again flummoxed by the frequent use of Spanish, which she is illiterate in. After struggling to order a churro from Hector the vendor, Tater begins to feel left out. She looks across the street and sees a French themed cafe and immediately falls in love with the decor and culture. She learns from a waiter that the cafe is currently closed and that the owner will be back tomorrow. In the meantime, Tater decides to take it upon herself to learn French, believing that this will add to her "final form" and begins to practice a variety of French words and phrases.
The primos are immediately taken aback by Tater's insistence on French, especially when she refuses to take up her cultural language and the fact that Nellie knows more than her, and they decide to work together by force teaching her Spanish. Tater discovers that all the channels have flipped to Spanish, the radio is on Spanish rock channels, and all the food in the fridge has been relabeled. Tater is eventually lead into a iron walled trap room and forced into completing a series of tasks in order to escape. Tater actually finds herself doing well remembering certain Spanish words, but whenever she gets one wrong is hit with a tres leches cake.
Tater begins to struggle more and more. When she is given a rope to escape, she can no longer keep up and becomes tired. The primos, realizing they have gone too far, end the simulation and apologize for their actions. Tater admits that while she does want to learn Spanish, she wants to do in her own time. The Primos predict that learning French will inspire her to pick up other languages. Tater and the primos head to the cafe and Tater decides to try her French. To her surprise, the owner is Hector who also knows French. Tater tries her limited French and succeeds, empowering her with the knowledge that she mastered at least one language.

Trivia[]
- No Sabo is Spanish for I don't know. Technically, it should be "no sé", but due to the fact that Tater is not fluent in Spanish and is referred to as a "No Sabo Kid", as a reference to the internet meme, this is actually fitting.
- The trap room with the sock puppet directing Tater is an obvious nod to the Saw film series.
- Tater getting hit with a lot of cakes shapes her to the form of Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars.
- One of the Spanish-language channels features a parody of Mexican television character El Chavo.
