"Summer of Tater" is the first segment of the premiere episode of the Disney Channel animated series Primos.
Synopsis[]
Tater's "Summer of Tater" agenda veers unexpectedly as her twelve primos surprisingly move in for the summer.
Plot[]
Right at the end of the school year, 9-year-old Tater Ramirez Humphrey has decided to make it her goal to change her life and make something of herself. In contrast, her younger, yet taller, sister, Nellie cynically looks down on Tater's goals and ask that she be more realistic. Tater admits that she does not know what her "final form" will be like, but still believes that this summer will make major changes to herself, though Nellie thinks that their environment is too stunted to allow such a thing.
At home, Tater looks to get support from her family for what they have done for "dreams". Unfortunately, her family believes that she means literal dreams and offer things to help her sleep. When she corrects them, they unenthusiastically tell her to keep her dreams simple, justifying Nellie's comments from earlier. Tater further comes up with other ideas on what she can do, but Nellie finds flaws in her personality that would prevent her from achieving such things. They are interrupted by the arrival of the primos and go to visit them, in the hopes that it will be quick.
Nellie, who has trouble remembering the primos names, has Tater go through each of them. Tere, Tabi, and Toñita are the athletic star obsessed sisters. Gordita is the science minded one, while her older brother Cousin Bud is the eco-friendly nerd. ChaCha is the wild child of simple words, while Lita is the oldest and coolest. Her younger siblings are Scooter, the shy one, and Lucita, the cutest and youngest one. LotLot is the creepy one, and finally Big Nacho and Nachito are the roughhousing brothers. Tater hopes that this is the end of their visit, but her mother Bibi reveals that they will be staying for the whole summer, much to Tater's shock, as she cries out "But this is supposed to be the summer of ME!" as her father Bud takes a group photo of them.

Trivia[]
- This episode, along with "Summer of Primos", "Summer of Quehaceres", and "Summer of La Muñeca", leaked online early on May 31, 2024. Because of this, Lucita was still referred to as Cookita and the family's hometown is Terremoto Heights instead of Hacienda Hills.
- Tater constantly mentions her final form. When doing so, she envisions herself in an orange jumpsuit with a blue T-shirt/wristbands/sash/boots and later glowing cyan hair, a reference to Goku from Dragon Ball Z.
- When Tater changes Baby Bud's diaper, the music sounds reminiscent of the theme to Rugrats.
- In the original leaked version, the song "La Cucaracha" played when the primos arrived. It was replaced with a bugle call in the released version.
- The reason for the cousins to stay all summer is because of Bibi's decision due to her spending a summer with her cousins back in 1978.
- The brief clay animations seen in this episode were provided by Craig Bartlett, best known for creating the Nickelodeon series Hey Arnold!
