"Summer of Tater Luna" is the first segment of the tenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Primos.
Synopsis[]
Tater's pride in her artwork is deflated by criticism.
Plot[]
Tater discovers that Bibi is looking for something new to teach her summer art class. When she ponders sequential art, Tater suggests that she teach her class about manga, which Bibi continues to mispronounce as "mango". Tater reveals that she has created her own manga hero known as Tater Luna, a heroic character that carries a pen that transforms into a sword (as a nod to the phrase "the pen is mightier than the sword"). Bibi asks Tater to make art of her character using her "fancy paper" so that she can show it to her and teach her how she should present it to her class, much to Tater's delight.
Tater creates another drawing of Tater Luna before she is interrupted by the Nachos. While they admire it, Big Nacho feels that Tater Luna should have bigger muscles, while Nachito questions the use of a pen sword, instead suggesting something similar to his Palo de Poder. Tater makes the suggestive changes, but then encounters the T Sisters and Scooter who are holding a fashion show. They too suggest changes to the character. This is followed by LotLot and Gordita, who are also manga fans, but have wildly different ideas of their own. Tater ends up making a terrible iteration of her character and angrily tells her primos to leave her alone.
Bibi checks on a defeated Tater and discovered what happened. She tells her that while it is okay to take suggestions from others, she shouldn't have to take every critical note seriously and stay true to what she believes is right. Having gained newfound confidence, Tater makes a completed comic with her true to her self version of Tater Luna. Bibi compliments the new comic, but only has one note: give Tater Luna a caring mother of her own. Tater and Bibi go downstairs and discover that the other primos were inspired by Tater's drawings to make their own. They all ask Tater for advice on what they should do for their characters and she happily complies.

Trivia[]
- Luna is Spanish for moon.
- Tater Luna is obviously meant to be a parody of Sailor Moon and even mimics the famous transformation scene.
- LotLot's manga Spiral Girl is an obvious nod to the works of Junji Ito, specifically Uzumaki and Tomoe.
- Gordita's manga Mech Suit is a nod to Gundam and possibly Neon Genesis Evangelion. The other one, Kawaii Froggie, loosely resembles Keroppi from the Hello Kitty series.
- Nellie's character resembles Ranma Saotome from Ranma ½.
