"Surf and Turf" is the thirty-sixth episode of The Proud Family.
Synopsis[]
Dijonay attempts to kiss Sticky, by entering a contest where she chooses a boy to kiss her or diss her with a huge prize if she is kissed, but regardless, Sticky rejects her. This leaves Dijonay heartbroken, so she attempts to make him jealous by asking the new kid, Duke to the Beach Blanket Bananza. Her plan works leaving Sticky jealous.
Afterwards, Dijonay and Duke enter a beach competition, as a reversal Sticky gets Penny to enter the contest with him. Meanwhile, Suga Mama and Papi enter as well and are used as side-comedy. The three teams made it to the final round, a surf contest. during the contest Dijonay and Sticky are more focused on showing off to one another. Finally, Sticky, Penny, Duke, and Dijonay lost to Suga Mama and Papi, leaving Dijonay back where she was with Sticky.
Trivia[]
- When Sticky asks Zoey to pretend to date him to make Dijonay jealous she refuses and says, "I don't want no scrubs.". This is a reference to the song "No Scrubs" by TLC.
- After Sticky asks Penny to help him win Dijonay back tearfully says, "I ain't too proud to beg now.". He's referring to The Temptations' song "Ain't Too Proud to Beg".
- Sticky sits on the pier and says, "Now, I'm sitting on the dock crying the tears of a clown." He's referring to Otis Redding's "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" and Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' "The Tears of a Clown."
- Penny comforts Sticky by saying, "You need to stop in the name of love." She's referring to the song from Diana Ross & The Supremes, "Stop! In the Name of Love".
- The GameWizard game console that is promised has a similar appearance to the Nintendo GameCube, with a mouse controller resembling the SNES Mouse, designed for the game Mario Paint.
